The left-back, 30, is now tied to Stadio Friuli until the summer of 2016. His previous deal had been set to expire in the summer.
He joined Udinese from Livorno in 2008 and has made 63 Serie A appearances for the club.
Former U21 defender has also played for Internazionale, Siena and Parma, but has not appeared for the senior Italy team.
Defender Giampiero Pinzi had signed a new contract earlier in the week.
