    Shiels loan deadlock

    Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels admits he is no further forward in his bid to keep his son on loan.

    Midfielder Dean Shiels is due to return to Doncaster on January 16 but Killie have been talking to the npower Championship club for several weeks with a view to keeping him until the end of the season.

    The Kilmarnock manager said: "I'm talking away and trying to make some headway but there is no headway. It's really hard."

    The former Hibernian player was loaned to Kilmarnock in July when Sean O'Driscoll was in charge of Doncaster but he has been replaced by Dean Saunders with agent Willie McKay influencing the club's transfer policy.
