The new official sponsors have been charged with setting up telecommunications systems in the South Korean city ahead of the event in 2015.
The agreement was signed by the SU Organising Committee on January 28 in Seoul with Mayor Kang Un-tae, chairperson of 2015 GUOC, and the companies' respective CEOs Jung Cheol-gil and Ha Sung-min in attendance.
"The global corporations SK C&C and SK Telecom have joined the 2015 SU in the first ever sponsorship for its successful hosting", Kang said.
"I hope they will help the 2015 SU to become a state-of-the-art IT Universiade with its world's leading technology in addition to contributing to the development of the youth of the world as the leading companies in social contribution activities."
The new partners have been awarded a total of 35 rights, including the use of the official title and logo, and priorities to take part in special programs such as cultural events and the torch ceremony.
Other domestic and overseas promotional opportunities have also been included in the deal. In particular, the partners will be provided with opportunities to be exposed worldwide through advertising in stadiums and to promote their brand values internationally by sponsorship recognition programmes.
SK C&C will implement a Total Integrated Management System, in a bid to make the Universiade high-tech smart, enabling participants to access information anywhere, anytime and with ease through several web and mobile mediums.
SK Telecom meanwhile will be in charge of building up the hard wire and wireless telecommunication systems as a communication partner.
In addition, the partners will allow the Universiade the use of SK's baseball, basketball and golf clubs.
The 2015 Summer Universiade will be held from July 3 to 14 in 2015 with 20,000 participants from about 170 nations expected.
