The Devizes swearbox was in contention for a win in the final race of the day at Oulton Park, after successfully out pacing Milwaukee Yamaha’s James Ellison and Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes to go as high as third. The rider eventually finished in fifth, and in the earlier race this afternoon clinched his best result of the season, after crossing the finishing line in fourth. Bridewell did not expect to be battling for a podium, but is pleased with his performance so far.
“Obviously I am very happy with how the weekend went; the whole Halsall Racing team were phenomenal. I have my Italian crew as well which means a lot to me, and they worked really hard to get me where I was. I did not expect to be where I was to be honest, and to be battling in the last race for a podium was a dream for me,” said Bridewell, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit this evening.
“It was good to repay the team with a good weekend, and hopefully we can build on what we did today and it is on wards and upwards. All I needed was a competitive bike and a competitive team behind me, and admittedly I did not expect to come back so strong so fast but I knew I could.
“It has never been a matter of self doubt it has just been disappointing and upsetting when you put so much effort in and don’t get the results back, but it is nice to show that when I am given a good package I can jump on it and do well.”
