Team of the Week: Wigan Warriors

    Team of the Week

    GK: Ali Al-Habsi (Wigan Athletic)

The Omani goalkeeper usually shines in defeat in the Wigan goal, but he made several saves as the Latics claimed a surprise win at Anfield.

    RB: Emmerson Boyce (Wigan Athletic)

Made a number of key challenges and interceptions – including a vital one to deny Martin Skrtel – and was a big factor in Wigan claiming the three points.

    CB: David Wheater (Bolton Wanderers)

The former Middlesbrough defender scored his first Premier League goals for three and a half years to secure victory in a derby which doubled as a relegation six-pointer.

    CB: John Terry (Chelsea)

Chelsea's captain kept it together at the back as Tottenham controlled large parts of the London derby but left Stamford Bridge with only a point.

    LB: Leighton Baines (Everton)

Capped a fine all-round display with an excellent free-kick to put Everton on the road to their 2-0 win at Swansea.

RM: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United)

A superb performance from the mercurial Frenchman. He ran the show at The Hawthorns, scoring one and creating the other two of Newcastle's three goals.

    CM: Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

As City continue to toil, Toure remains their driving force. The Ivorian's goal from distance salvaged a draw that sent the club top of the table, until this evening at least.

    CM: Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

The Spanish midfielder was at the fulcrum of Arsenal's dominant 3-0 win over Aston Villa, and his outstanding free-kick put the gloss on the victory.

    LM: James McClean (Sunderland)

The Irish winger continues to impress, most recently as the architect of QPR's downfall as he scored one goal and played a hand in Sunderland's other two.

    FW: Peter Crouch (Stoke City)

Few punters would have put money on Crouchie scoring a contender for goal of the season - but the lanky striker's audacious control and volley to leave Joe Hart helpless must be favourite.

    FW: Papiss Cisse (Newcastle United)

The Senegalese's well-taken brace against West Brom takes his tally at Newcastle to five goals in six matches. He edges out Grant Holt here due to the Norwich captain's red card against Wolves.
