Ipswich manager Paul Jewell has taken former Tottenham and Portsmouth defender Ricardo Rocha on trial.
The 33-year-old, who became a free agent following Pompey's relegation at the end of last season, will spend an initial week at Portman Road.
Jewell told the club's official website: "Ricardo is here for the week and we'll take it from there."
Rocha, who has made six appearances for Portugal, started his career at Braga and in 2002 joined Benfica, where he played Champions League football.
Tottenham paid £3million for him in 2007, but he found a regular first-team slot hard to come by at White Hart Lane and in 2010 he moved on to Portsmouth.
