    Tranmere continue run with another win

    League One leaders Tranmere continued their fine form with a 1-0 away win over Notts County at Meadow Lane.

    Substitute Joe Thompson netted the game’s only goal in the 22nd minute as Ronnie Moore’s side picked up their eighth win in 11 games this season.

    Stevenage kept pace with the leaders as they secured a 1-0 victory over Scunthorpe at the Lamex Stadium thanks to Greg Tansey’s goal to remain four points behind.

    Sheffield United moved up into third place with a 1-0 win away to Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium with Nick Blackman on target for Danny Wilson’s side.

    Swindon beat Bury 1-0 at Gigg Lane through Matt Ritchie’s first-minute winner, and Paolo Di Canio’s side move above MK Dons, who were held in a 2-2 home draw with Portsmouth.

    Crawley Town were defeated 2-1 at Brentford as a brace from Clayton Donaldson gave his side a big win at Griffin Park.

    Preston dropped down to eighth after a 3-1 defeat to Oldham with Dean Furman, Cristian Montano and Jose Baxter on target for the hosts at Boundary Park.

    Doncaster beat Shrewsbury 1-0 at the Keepmoat, courtesy of Billy Paynter’s fourth-minute penalty, while Walsall lost 2-1 at home to Carlisle.

    Yeovil benefited from a Paddy Madden brace with James Hayter also on the scoresheet as they beat Colchester 3-1 at Huish Park.

    Coventry beat Bournemouth 1-0 at the Ricoh Arena with David McGoldrick on target, while Crewe overcame Hartlepool 2-1 with goals from Chuks Aneke and Mark Ellis.
