Trump started quickly and sealed the first frame in less than 10 minutes, assembling a break of 62 after Williams took an early 25 point lead.

The Bristol-born star quickly took the second frame, building a hefty score of 82 to double his advantage before Williams won in the third, notching a clinical break of 79.

Undeterred, Trump displayed his unerring accuracy and precision at the table by racing to another extensive break, this time claiming a score of 76 to regain a two frame cushion and a 3-1 lead heading into the first interval.

Despite re-gathering his composure, Williams was unable to prevent his opponent from taking the next two frames as Trump hit a plethora of well-placed shots to go 5-1 ahead.

Williams responded with grit and determination, claiming three consecutive frames to conjure an interesting finale at 5-4.

However, the comeback was ultimately short-lived, as Trump sealed the 10th frame to conclude an unexpectedly tense 6-4 victory. He will meet either Shaun Murphy or John Higgins in Sunday’s final.
