UFC 184 Gate and Attendance from Rousey vs. Zingano in Los Angeles

The UFC returned to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night for UFC 184: Rousey vs. Zingano, and it was certainly well worth the trip.

The Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano topped card drew the largest audience the promotion has ever done at the Staples Center. UFC president Dana White announced Saturday's attendance at 17,654.

The gate didn't quite hit the number the Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie notched in 2006, which was $2.9 million, but Rousey vs. Zingano wasn't far behind at $2.675 million.

There was a bright spotlight shining on this event, particularly because of Rousey putting her UFC women's bantamweight title on the line against Zingano, but it was a short-lived night with three of the five main card bouts ending in the first round. Rousey in particular was in high efficiency mode, finishing Zingano with an armbar in a record-setting 14 seconds.
