Nemanja Vidic sees no point in looking back on what might have been for Manchester United last season.
United endured a desperate day in May when a 20th championship seemed to be theirs, only for it to be snatched away at the death by Manchester City.
But Vidic feels it is time to forget about that now, and said:. "You have to look forward. Never look back. Whenever we won it before we never looked back. That's why we are successful. When you look back it doesn't make you any better. You always have to look ahead to the next challenge."
The challenge for Sir Alex Ferguson is to get a couple of orthodox central defenders on the pitch after being forced to name Michael Carrick alongside Vidic for the opening two games of the Barclays Premier League season.
Ferguson was at Altrincham on Wednesday to watch Jonny Evans play his first 90 minutes since a summer ankle operation and it seems certain the Northern Irishman will be fit enough to slot in alongside his captain.
