Zalgiris reach Top 16 against the odds

Zalgiris Kaunas booked a place in the Top 16 after an 87-76 win over KK Zagreb gave the Lithuanian champions a third win in four EuroLeague games.

The result saw Zalgiris improve their regular season record to 4-6 and clinch fourth place in Group B.

Sonny Weems topscored for Zalgiris with 20 while Marko Popovic, who drained a clutch three to get his side home and dry, added 17, including five from beyond the arc.

Zagreb crash out of their debut EuroLeague season after managing to register just two wins from their 10 pool games.

CSKA Moscow finished their group campaign with a perfect 10-0 record after beating Unicaja 91-83 in Malaga.

The Russian side became just the third team to go the entire regular season unbeaten - CSKA themselves did it 2004-05 and Barcelona achieved the feat in 2009-10 - as Milos Teodosic again starred, claiming a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists.

Behind CSKA in Group B came Panathinaikos after the Greek side downed Brose Baskets 71-66 in Athens.

Barcelona thumped Galatasaray 79-50 at home as the Spanish side recovered from their first defeat of the season - last week to Montepaschi Siena - to end with an impressive 9-1 record in Group D.

Unics Kazan secured third place in the same group after a 76-63 win at Union Olimpija while Montepaschi Siena beat Asseco Prokom Gdynia 53-79 to finish second with a record of 8-2.
