Julius Brink Biography
Making his second Olympic appearance, Brink and new partner Jonas Reckermann have steadily progressed on the beach volleyball circuit to the point where they will be a legitimate medal contender in London. Brink and Reckermann began their partnership in 2009 and were an instant success, setting an FIVB record with a 25-match winning streak while posting four victories and eight top-three finishes. The breakout season earned Brink and Reckermann FIVB team of the year honors while becoming just the second European pair to win the tour’s points championship. While the duo has failed to win an FIVB tournament since _ they have placed in the top three 12 times in 18 FIVB events over the last two years _ they did win the European Championship in 2011. Brink appeared with Christoph Dieckmann at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, finishing 19th despite entering the field as the sixth seed.
