Connor Fields Biography

Thanks to a victory over former Olympian Mike Day at the 2012 U.S. Olympic BMX trials, Fields earned the chance to compete in his first Summer Games. Fields’ win came on the U.S. training center course in California that is a replica of the one he will ride in London. Because of that performance and a first-place finish in the time trial at the BMX world championships this season, Fields’ name has been mentioned alongside Australia’s Sam Willoughby and Joris Daudet of France as the most serious medal contenders for the 2012 Games. The reigning BMX national champion, Fields also has a pair of world cup supercross victories this year. Those titles followed a 2011 season when he posted one world cup victory and won gold at the 2011 Pan-American Games. Fields was introduced to the sport of BMX racing at age seven when his mother found a flier at a local bike shop advertising a BMX track near their home in Las Vegas.
