David Herman Biography

The top-ranked rider in USA Cycling’s BMX power rankings, Herman earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team and solidified his standing by finishing fifth at the BMX world championships in May. Known as "The Hermanator," he finished second at the 2011 national championships after bursting onto the international scene three years earlier by winning a pair of 2008 World Cup races. He followed those titles with another World Cup victory in 2009. That success came after Herman earned the ABA Rookie Pro of the Year award in 2007. While Herman might not yet possess the brand name of former U.S. BMX Olympians like Donny Robinson or Mike Day, he has the potential to be a darkhorse in London. Plus, he won't to worry about Robinson or Day, neither of whom will be competing this summer.
