Marianne Vos Biography

Vos will be going for a second gold at the London Games, although this time around she'll be competing in a different event. The Dutch cyclist, a favorite to bring a medal back to her home country, has been successful in a variety of disciplines, including road racing, track racing and the cyclocross. Her medal in Beijing was on the track (points race), but she'll be competing in the road race in 2012, an event in which she finished sixth in Beijing. Vos has two first-place finishes in the track world championships - including at last year's event - and has finished second in the road event for five straight years. She also has five first-place finishes in the cycloscross, including at a competition earlier this season. In addition to her diverse cycling talents, Vos is an accomplished inline and speed skater.
