Daryl Homer Biography
Homer is ranked No. 2 in the United States in saber and 13th in the world as he heads into his first Olympics. He has been on the last three senior world championship teams and is following up a successful 2011, which saw him win individual and team golds at the Pan American Championships and an individual silver at the USA Fencing National Championships. Homer had a decorated junior career before finishing 12th at his first senior world championships in 2010. He helped the United States take bronze at the Moscow World Cup - the first U.S. men's saber team to win a World Cup medal since 2005. Born in St. Thomas of the Virgin Islands, Homer read about fencing in a dictionary when he was 5 and says he begged his mother to let him take up the sport.
