Elisa di Francisca Biography

Di Francisca has earned nine combined gold medals in world championship and European championship competition, winning the individual world title in 2010 and the Euro title one year later. She's also captured three silvers and a bronze at worlds - taking individual silver in 2011 and individual bronze in 2009 - and will be making her first Olympic appearance. Di Francisca hails from Jesi, a town near Rome that has sent fencers to every Olympics since 1976, including current teammate Valentina Vezzali.
