Leinster confirmed their place as one of the best sides in Heineken Cup history, taking a third title with a 42-14 win over Ulster. More
80+1' CONVERSION LEINSTER! 42-14! That should not do disservice to Leinster though, who have played fantastically well, as McFadden this time does add the extras with the final kick of the game.
80' TRY LEINSTER! 40-14! Cronin wants a peice of the action, crossing over in the righthand corner to add his name to the scorers list as the clock ticks over to 80 minutes. Such a shame for Ulster, who have not been as outplayed as the score will suggest
76' TRY LEINSTER! 35-14! Just to add salt to Ulster's wounds, Leinster exploit their man advantage as substitute Van der Merwe pushes his way over in the corner to add a third try for the evening. Easy for Leinster as they spread the ball wide and Ulster simply don't have enough men to stop them
74' PENALTY LEINSTER! 30-14! Sexton easily adds another three points, no trouble for the Ireland international with that kick, and Leinster's name can now start being engraved on that trophy surely?
73' Treblanche is sent to the sin-bin, he will play no further part in this final, after a picking up Cronin, tipping him over and dropping him to the ground. The 36-year-old will play no further part in this final and Leinster will have another kick at the posts
69' PENALTY LEINSTER! 27-14! Sexton adds another three points to the defending champions tally after Rory Best was penalised for playing the ball off his feet. Just 11 minutes left on the clock now as Leinster look increasingly comfortable
68' A bit scrappy in midfield from both sides as O'Driscoll limps off having picked up a knock. There's a huge cheer for the former skipper as Dave Kearney comes on to replace him. Richardt Strauss also goes off with Sean Cronin the man to come on in his place. Ulster also take the chance to make a change, Faloon replacing Henry.
63' Shane Jennings is coming on for Leinster in place of McLaughlin while Van der Merwe replaces try-scorer Healy in the front row
61' TRY ULSTER! 24-14! Wallace breaks through the Leinster defensive line and flings the ball wide to find Tuohy, who crashes over the line to finally grab Ulster's first try of the evening!
58' There's a huge cheer from the Leinster supporters as Leon Cullen makes way for Devin Toner
51' PENALTY LEINSTER! 24-9! Ouch! Immediately that Ulster have got themselves back within two score range, Henry gives away a sloppy penalty for being off his feet in the ruck and Sexton belts another kick from out wide, sending the ball whistling in between the posts
49' PENALTY ULSTER! 21-9! O'Brien is penalised for a high tackle, that was a dubious call but nonetheless Ulster have the penalty and Pienaar gives his side hope with his third kick of the day
46' Ian Humphreys is brought on for Ulster in place of Paddy Jackson after another error from the young fly-half lead to that penalty try. Today will be a harsh lesson for Jackson
46' CONVERSION LEINSTER! 21-6! An easy kick for Sexton from just in front of the posts to extend the defending champions lead to 15 points, more than two converted tries
HT HALF-TIME: Leinster 14-6 Ulster
40+1' PENALTY ULSTER! 14-6! What a kick from Pienaar as he belts the ball upfield from nearly the half-way line. That will give his side a great boost heading down the tunnel and it is 14-6 to Leinster at the break!
33' CONVERSION LEINSTER! 14-3! Another easy conversion kick for Sexton as he adds the extras once again to further extend Leinster's lead as we approach half-time
32' TRY LEINSTER! 12-3! O'Brien is hauled down just inside the five metre line and Reddan picks up. The Leinster fly-half, instead of going himself, decides to offload to Healy, who rolls Trimble best attempt to stop him and rolls over the line in the process
14' CONVERSION LEINSTER! 7-3! Sexton adds the extras without too much trouble, the kick being from just to the left of the left upright. Leinster are beginning to look ominously slick if you are an Ulster fan
13' TRY LEINSTER! 5-3! The try is eventually awarded after numerous looks. Leinster have the lead and that was a huge call for the TMO. O'Brien just got the ball down on enough of the line for the try to be awarded but he was pretty close!
8' PENALTY ULSTER! 0-3! This one is in kicking range for Pienaar! And sure enough the South African, who kicked six from six in the semi-final, drills the ball right through the centre of the posts to get his side off the mark. Great start from Ulster
- There's been a late change on the bench, with Isaac Boss failing a late fitness test for Leinster. The 22-year-old John Cooney is Boss's replacement in the back-up scrum-half berth for the defending champions
- Leinster have enjoyed an unbeaten run to the final of this year's Heineken Cup, winning seven and drawing one of their eight games. Ulster, on the other hand, have had a much tougher time, progressing from a pool including European heavyweights Leicester and Clermont Auvergne. And they knocked out two-times Heineken Cup winners Munster in the quarter-finals
- Ulster, meanwhile, look as follows: Stefan Terblanche, Andrew Trimble, Darren Cave, Paddy Wallace, Craig Gilroy, Paddy Jackson, Ruan Pienaar, Tom Court, Rory Best, John Afoa, Johann Muller (C), Dan Tuohy, Stephen Ferris, Chris Henry, Pedrie Wannenburg. Subs: Nigel Brady, Paddy McAllister, Declan Fitzpatrick, Lewis Stevenson, Willie Faloon, Paul Marshall, Ian Humphreys, Adam D'Arcy

Subs: Sean Cronin, Heinke Van der Merwe, Nathan White, Devin Toner, Shane Jennings, Isaac Boss, Ian Madigan, Dave Kearney| Leinster | versus | Ulster |

"16 players" you having a laugh what cause the ref gave US a penalty try well thats the way of the game they were'nt able to stop the maul it was a wrecking ball through there defence so they collapsed the maul "professional foul" just in front of the try line so we were awarded a penalty try which we were gonna get either way and as for the yellow on Terblanche in my eyes that was an easy red he flipped Cronin and let go in the air a clear red so the ref was generous and fair so get yer facts straight before u start passing stupid comments But all in all super game well played both teams
Congretulation from france to both team. I've seen a great rugby match between two beautiful team. Leinster deserves to win the Hcup for all their games. Ulster can be proud of themself as they played well, and against 16 players. Indeed, that's just damage that referees had a such impact on the final result by given about 13 points at the beginning of the second half... Firstly I thought that was big mistakes of referee which has been changed the match! Finally and apparently, Mr Owens prefered Leinster (many yellow cards not given to Leinster) and help this team which normally needn't of that...
@Peter Alex Leinster not quite most successful European club Toulouse have won it four times but going like that maybe retain the title next year. Congrats Leinster
Oh pod,you sad tosser. All you can do is stand on the sidelines and watch the superior "Mick" teams absolutely dominate European rugby. Is that the stench of jealousy?!!! Lol lol lol
good man pod typical clown that does not have a clue about rugby ah you live in your little fantasy world where the Guinness premiership is a good league. super leinster best team in Europe
Well done Irish & Northy Irish you had a good run. Did Glesca n Embra run 3rd & 4th for Scots ? Was there any English teams in this compo, ?.
Well done - Leinster.
Leinster just 10 minutes away from becoming the most successful side in Heineken Cup history now as they edge towards their fourth trophy
PENALTY LEINSTER! 27-14! Sexton adds another three points to the defending champions tally after Rory Best was penalised for playing the ball off his feet. Just 11 minutes left on the clock now as Leinster look increasingly comfortable
Leinster make it look so easy .............................. ye ha.
Super Super Leinster. Champions again. Ye ha!
Leinster are simply the best. Make a place in the cabinet for that European trophy. Ye ha.
Leinster hard to beat, too organised to break down. Ulster did well to get to this final, hats off to them! Maybe next time Ulster but for now, HAIL LEINSTER THE CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to the mighty champions Leinster on yet another European title.
Yes thats what i just said.........i dont always get it right, i didnt think leinster would win it. But having beaten clermont in france then leinster do deserve it.
Ulster like rabbits n headlights. jackson, wallace and court terrible.
Raymond - you never get it right. Was it not you that said you were convinced a certain French side would lift this European cup? Sure it was you - LOL.
ofcourse i dont always get it right....... im big and brave enough to hold my hand up and say i didnt think leinster would win cup this year. but then its little surprise when one provence is allowed monopolise all the best irish talent. great for leinster but not so good for the irish rugby at a national level.
