    • 15.55 Only five minutes remaining until kick-off in this eagerly-anticipated clash. And if history is any guide, expect fireworks. There has not been a try-less England v Wales Test since 1978! It's a gloriously sunny day here and the atmosphere is palpable as the anthems begin.
    • 15.50 England are bidding to start the RBS 6 Nations with three consecutive wins for the second year running but this time with considerably less experience. No fever than seven players running out today have never experienced the atmosphere of a home international.
    • 15.45 There is a lot at stake here, notably a Triple Crown for Wales. They have won the Triple Crown 19 times - but have never done so at Twickenham.
    • 15.40 Many eyes will be on Owen Farrell, who switches to the number ten slot due to Charlie Hodgson's injury. Outside him are the formidable pairing of Brad Barritt and Manu Tuilagi up against the Welsh midfield force of Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies.
    • 15.35 After battling to hard-fought victories over Scotland and Italy, England will come into today's match with some confidence. Stuart Lancaster's men have lost just one of their last eight games - 12-19 to France in the World Cup quarter-final.
    • 15.30 Wales start as favourites but have won just one of 13 games at Twickenham since 1988, 26-19 in 2008.

  1. What a great game!!!------much closer than I thought, but still a win and the slam beckons.
England did improve much in that game, wales did not play that well, they seemed to lack structure at times but still came away with a win at twikenham, they were a man down but still scored all the points from there!! Wales now have that mental toughness that all great teams have when they're down but can still come back and win, the all blacks did it in the world cup, France threw everything at them and yet they were able to pull through and get a win!!--- and that is what it's about at this level, winning, winning is everything, win ugly-win pretty but that big ole W up there means a win is a win!!!
The opposing fans can bemoan all they like but it won't change the score line, ( AND THAT IS A FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

England must now go on from there and prove they can play well consistantly, and it was not just a one off.
England most of the time are victims of their own media with rugby journalists now threatening to take their ball home, because the so called disallowed try really was a try, and they've got the "PROOF". But even if it wasn't it should have been cos it would have beeen much fairer if it was, the ref, and all the line judges were all biased because they weren't English, and if they were given a 10 point head start at the begining as they should of had, because Wales were favourites, then it would have been a much fairer game, then England could have one by a couple off points and it would have made it all okey dokey!

  3. England getting better.... Wales did enough to win it. Can't help thinking as an England supporter that the team may still have problems at prop.

  4. Good game from both teams, England came with a spoiling game plan and to be close up front to stop our runners basically getting the run on them. England are rebuilding and if that was the plan then it worked for a good while, that is until they thought they could win and lost sight of their game plan. The referee was watching another game at times and as soon as I heard he was in charge I sunk in my chair, at times during the game he was clueless, continually looking for the linesmen to offer him the answer, this guy is not up to this standard, please dont use this clown again. Da iawn boys.

  5. I think gloating and cocky were made up by english for the english, welsh are humble, we dont have a chip about the english, the whole world does believe me. I think it was a great match and the English were good and need to be proud the came close to a good welsh side maybe the best weve ever had? and I think the fact wales didnt look that good was because the English didnt let them play. Well done both teams.

I keep hearing wales played badly , Mmmm let me think oh yes Englands game forced it , I honestly think wales shaded it but considering that try which I believe never was , didnt go on the scoreboard . Wales can count themselves very fortunate.

  7. Fantastic game. Congratulations Wales. But I think England are improving each game. I predict we will beat both Ireland and France !. Wales are a better team than England at the moment but not by much and considering the Welsh team have been together for 18 months and the English team for a month then I believe the future is rosy for both teams. But England needs two players to find their mojo again, Youngs and Ashton. I don't know what is wrong but both players are a shadow of their best which is a shame because they are the best players in the country at Scrum-half and Wing.
Taking into account what has transpired so far I think Lancaster should stay on as coach. He has certainly introduced a more disciplined team who are beginning to show real signs of improvement.

  10. Poor game by Welsh standards. Glad Roberts was replaced as he has no ball or foot skills, he would not have scored the try by williams who replaced him. I hope he is dropped as he is easy to mark out of the game.

  11. Arthur,
Sad statements, butmeant in honesty , but just way off the mark. The supporters may get exited, so what , it depends what the team thinks. This is a differant mental attitude than I have seen from any Welsh side. Gone has the cavalier attitude, if were down throw it everywhere. They didnt play well today and won. they were down until te last 8 minutes and won. I am not taking anthing from the England side, it has potential, but England always have potential to be top quality, so nothing new there. Just because some supporters at the Millenium are not your cup of tea does not make the Welsh side any worse either. Tri nations, what is that ? I have heard there are 4 teams playing there now. But what you seem to forget this extremely experienced Welsh side with most of the backs under 25,and lots of youngsters in the pack still can move on. This time last years many of these lads were not Internationals, we dont know whwre they will be in 3 years. sit back and enjoy the ride , it may be better than you think.

As a staunch Welsh Rugby supporter, I am afraid that this nation of ours gets rather too uphoric when we win a few games. Yes we had a good world cup, but we only beat 1 top ten team and that was Ireland. As for the six nations Championship, it is somewhat week i feel. Now the Tri Nations is a different ball game. I believe that England will develop into a very good side for the next world cup and that Argentina will improve in leaps and bounds playing in the Tri Nations'.As for my homeland, I have seen too many false dawns. We have some cracking youngsters coming through but alas I cannot see them bringing home the coveted Webb Ellis Trophy in the foreseeable future, and by the way half the fans who go to watch us at home, dont know the difference between a rugby and a ping pong ball

Terry you are so right England such big a country .... wales not so many people and only realy in the south and such a small country , ah well we beat the Scots and the Irish pity I like the Scots and the Irish and the French and the Italians ..... living as an expat here in Bulgaria it is not just so pleasing to beat the English at Rugby ... its a religion it realy doesnt matter if we dont get the grand slam .... as long as we rubbed shyte in the Englanders noses .
