- 80+1 Ireland lose the ball into touch and that will be that. South Africa were there for the taking today and Ireland will be annoyed that they let that slip in the second half, after having been fairly comfortably in control in the first half

- 79' There will be one last chance for Ireland, with 90 seconds left on the clock, as they win a penalty in the scrum on the half way line ...

- 40+2 South Africa are on their own 10m line when McCarthy is penalised for coming in from the side and Ruan Pienaar decides to have a kick at the posts. He's out wide in his own half so even with his range this is a highly unlikely kick

- 18' PENALTY SOUTH AFRICA! 6-3! Signs now that the Springboks are settling into this match as Lambie is successful with his kick at goal, reducing the deficit to just the three points
- 16' Mike McCarthy is penalised for offside as South Africa finally manage to put a move together. Sexton, by the way, is down injured in midfield and it's looking like it might be a shoulder problem.
- 13' Lambie goes for an attacking line-out after Ireland are penalised at the breakdown. It's a better kick from the South African fly-half but still no real tempo from either side
- 10' PENALTY IRELAND! 6-0! Sexton again takes his time in setting up his kick after Lambie was penalised for a bit of ill-discipline. Again it is successful for Ireland as they double their lead in a match that has so far really not go going at all
- 8' Strauss - the South African Strauss as opposed to the Irish Strauss - slips and concedes the turnover as Ireland are awarded another penalty and have the chance to clear the ball up beyond the half-way line
- 6' PENALTY IRELAND! 3-0! Sexton takes an absolute age setting himself up for the kick but it's all worth it in the end as he drills the ball between the posts and gives the home side the lead

It maybe over simplifying things but I feel that Ireland are still lacking that killer instinct to finish off games and seem to have trouble whenever they are leading games. Come to the second half they are like rabbits in headlights with no clue how to win. Shame, as they have talent but not that inner strength.

Raymond and you have got a dodgy ref, absolutely ridiculous decisions, and just loves his whistle!! Can't see the boks win this with these ref's with a possible IQ of 10 and that's probably being generous. See Ireland rugby is taking a lesson from the England side and bringing in overseas players, so maybe they will now improve. Go Bokke

SA not interested, this must be the worst SA team to go on tour. Still ireland struggling to beat them. we should have put a few tries on the board by now. the ref is very generous to us. please somebody take earls off the pitch before he costs us this match. im blue in the face saying he isnt up to this level of rugby, and every day im proved right. on the evidence of the argies performance today ireland need to improve big time if they hope to beat argentina. we can disregard this game as the springboks simply dont want to be here.

Cant see how ireland can win this one, unless we get a dodgy ref. The camp is in disarray after a poor 6 nations where we only beay lowly italy and scotland. then followed that with a record 60-0 loss to new zealand. Kidney is a great man manager but hasnt a clue about tactics and coaching. Earls and Darcy are the weakest defensive midfield you will find in international rugby. the boks will have a field day in midfield. also the selection of Zebo at full back is mindboggling. i dont think he has even played a game at fullback for munster. Great to see mike mccarthy in the team. hope it goes well for him.
