    • New Zealand
    • Australia
    • FT So New Zealand record a flattering 33-6 victory to end the 2009 Tri-Nations, leaving them in second and consigning Australia to last place
    • FT The final whistle goes as soon as that kick from Carter has whistled bewteen the posts and that is that
    • 80+1' CONVERSION! An absolutely outstanding kick from the wing from Carter to cap the win with another three points to add to the tally
    • 80' TRY NEW ZEALAND! No doubt this time as the All Blacks work the ball out wide to the right wing before Rokocoko scores his 45th Test try with a dive over the line
    • 78' New Zealand fans think the All Blacks have crossed the line for another try. They have crossed the line but the ball is deemed to have been held up by referee Joubert and they will go back for a five metre attacking scrum
    • 77' New Zealand are looking for a third try as Carter posts an inch-perfect kick to the corner for the line-out and drive
    • 76' CONVERSION! Carter just sneaks the ball inside the right post to make their lead 20 points with just four minutes to go
    • 75' TRY NEW ZEALAND! Great play from the All Blacks as the bounce back from all that Australian pressure with a genius move from Ma'a Nonu, who ducks his way out of two tackles before stretching out to just touch the ball down over the line
    • 71' Australia continue to push for the line from a five metre attacking scrum and again it is Genia who comes the closest, being dragged down just short. But New Zealand turn the ball over and just about clear their line
    • 70' Much, much better from Australia as Giteau and Genia combine to get within five metres of the tryline before Barnes takes a turn with the ball and makes another couple of metres
    • 67' New Zealand continue to enjoy the lion's share of the possession, while Australia hold firm in defence and the match is resolutely disrupted by a raft of substitutions
    • 64' O'Connor gets in another spot of bother as he collects a loose ball off the floor just a metre out from his own line before looking decidedly unsure what to do with it. New Zealand quickly swap him but the Wallabies manage to get the ball back to Barnes, who clears
    • 63' A great statistic that really sums up the match so far today. Tackles made by Australia: 94. Tackles made by New Zealand: 44.
    • 62' O'Connor is not really having a very good game today as he knocks on when the ball is drilled back to him by Barnes and that ends a run of six phases by the Australians, albeit very few of them in a forward direction!
    • 59' Jane has managed just another two minutes, shaking his hand all the while in an attempt to shake off that knock. But eventually the All Blacks team management prevails and he makes way for Hosea Gear. Gear goes on to the right wing and Rokocoko shifts over to the left
    • 56' Jane looks to be battling with a right hand problem and that would be a massive blow for the All Blacks if they were to lose the man who has been their main playmaker today
    • 54' Toeava breaks down the right wing after a great break from Jane, handing off Elsom in the process. The man, who is rapidly redeeming himself for that first half sinbining, gets off a great pass to Muliaina as well but is deemed just to have been in touch before he let go of the ball
    • 53' Rokocoko makes a break down the left wing, before Toeava, Muliaina and McCaw take their turn with the ball. But the Wallabies get the ball back when an inside pass goes astray
    • 50' Australia are given a chance to clear their line for almost the first time in this second half. Their defence has been impressive but it's battling stuff from the visitors who are seeing hardly any of the ball now
    • 47' PENALTY NEW ZEALAND! O'Connor did well to make a few yards in the right direction after finding himself in that spot of bother but eventually he is brought down and then penalised for holding on and Carter has little trouble in adding another three points to the All Blacks tally
    • 45' O'Connor does well to collect a high kick upfield but then has to showcase some of his best footwork to get out of a tight spot when he finds himself running towards his own tryline with the ball
    • 44' Smith almost produces a cracking kick upfield to rival Carter's but the ball just goes out on the full, instead handing the All Blacks a defensive line-out
    • 41' Giteau gets the match back underway for the second half with Australia staring at the prospect of the wooden spoon despite being the ones to consign champions South Africa to their only defeat of the tournament
    • HT So the half-time score: New Zealand 16-6 Australia
    • 40+2' It turns out though that there is no progress to be made and eventually Thorn batters the ball into touch to bring down the curtain on the first half
    • 40+1' The hooter has gone but New Zealand have possession and seemingly have no intention of getting rid of the ball if there is any progress to be made
    • 40' George Smith finds an outlet for some of his frustration with a thumping hit, totally legal, on Carter that even has the crowd exhaling with the weight of it!
    • 39' Carter comes up with a stunning kick upfield, which dribbles out about 10 metres short of the line to secure the line-out. And Toeava comes back onto the field with his side having conceded none and scored seven during his 10 minutes in the bin
    • 36' Adam Ashley-Cooper finds a brilliantly timed pass to O'Connor, who makes another 10 metres towards the line before attempting a pass out wide to Turner. But Rokocoko gets a hand to the ball taking it out of Turner's path. Australia appeal for a deliberate knock out by Rokocoko but really it was a poor choice by O'Connor, who had people unmarked on his inside
    • 33' CONVERSION! Carter bounces his conversion kick, from the right wing, off the left-hand upright and through in between the posts to make it 16-6 with about seven minutes to go until the interval
    • 32' TRY NEW ZEALAND! Cory Jane gets his first Test try after beating O'Connor to a high kick, from fullback Muliana, and running away to the line despite an decent attempt at the tackle from Turner
    • 30' Referee Craig Joubert goes back across to talk to his touch judge after those three points from Barnes and decides to send Toeava to the bin for that tackle. Perhaps a little harsh for a first infringement as the tackle didn't look deliberate, although there is no doubt it was very high
    • 30' DROP KICK AUSTRALIA! Fantastic three points by Berrick Barnes as he drops the goal after Toeava has put in an incredibly high tackle on O'Connor over towards the left wing
    • 28' Debutant Donnelly comes up with a cracking tackle on man-mountain Elsom before regaining possession for New Zealand just inside the Wallabies half. The Australian defence is holding firm, though
    • 27' Eventually New Zealand turn the ball over with Rokocoko the man in possession, but O'Connor does brilliantly under the high kick from the All Blacks before finding Elsom
    • 25' Better from Australia from the re-start as they retain possession from the re-start and make a foray into the New Zealand half - even getting to the 22
    • 22' PENALTY NEW ZEALAND! It's all New Zealand again now as Carter kicks his third successful penalty of the night, albeit only just curling the ball inside the right posts, to extend the hosts lead
    • 19' Toeava makes a great break at an angle towards the left try-line after a quick penalty from Jane. But Read again is the culprit for the breakdown of the move as he produces a poor pass out wide, meant for Rokocoko. The All Blacks winger doesn't bother to try and catch the ball which is fair enough as it was miles forward!
    • 17' PENALTY NEW ZEALAND! Carter makes no mistake once again and becomes the first Kiwi fly-half to rack up 100 Tri-Nations points. Not a bad achievement
    • 16' Shocking first line-out from New Zealand and Andrew Hore as the ball flies well over the heads of everyone in the line. It turns out ok, just, as McCaw races up behind the line to collect the ball and New Zealand get another penalty chance when Polota-Nau is caught not rolling away
    • 14' PENALTY NEW ZEALAND! Better this time from Carter as he kicks from right in front of the posts after Drew Mitchell and Australia are penalised for an accidental knock-on
    • 13' Australia absorbed the early pressure well from New Zealand and have barely let the hosts back into their own half since those opening couple of minutes as Smith and Genia combine again for the attack before Giteau thumps the ball in behind Rokocoko. The ball dribbles over the try-line though and New Zealand have the ball at the 22
    • 11' It's a tricky kick for Giteau this time, right from the left wing, and he pulls the ball across the front of the posts to let New Zealand off the hook. Three points remain the difference
    • 10' The All Blacks are stretched out on the left wing after the Wallabies turned the ball over from Rokocoko and the All Blacks are penalised once again, about 10 metres out from the try-line for failing to roll away
    • 8' PENALTY AUSTRALIA! Giteau manages to avoid a repeat of Carter's mistake early as he guides the ball between the posts to hand them the early lead
    • 7' Australia take a quick free kick after the All Blacks collapse the scrum - Smith gets within five metres of the line, before Genia makes another couple. And it will be Giteau to have a kick at the posts this time as Thomson is penalised for offside
    • 5' Australia get their first bit of possession inside the New Zealand half with their first line-out of the day proving to be very solid, before the visitors work their way into the middle of the pitch right in front of the posts
    • 4' But the Wallabies escape as Carter pulls what should be a fairly comfortable kick, especially by the Crusaders' man's high standards, just right of the posts
    • 3' Ouch! New Zealand get an early chance to get the scoreboard ticking over at Matt Giteau is penalised for an infringement at the breakdown
    • 2' The start is collected comfortably by New Zealand who push up to the Australian 22 before Kearan Reed is penalised for coming in from the side, handing the visitors the chance to clear their line
    • 1' Dan Carter gets the match underway on what is shaping up to be a very cold night in Wellington ...
    • 08:32 The national athems over and done with, it is simple a matter now of the haka and then we will be underway
    • 08:27 The 2009 Tri-Nations title has been comfortably wrapped up by South Africa already but there is still plenty to play for today as whoever loses this clash picks up the dreaded wooden spoon
    • 08:22 Australia meanwhile keep the faith with their young squad and look like this: 15-James O'Connor, 14-Lachie Turner, 13-Adam Ashley-Cooper, 12-Berrick Barnes, 11-Drew Mitchell, 10-Matt Giteau, 9-Will Genia, 8-George Smith (capt), 7-David Pocock, 6-Rocky Elsom, 5-Mark Chisholm, 4-James Horwill, 3-Ben Alexander, 2-Tatafu Polota-Nau, 1-Benn Robinson
    • 08:21 New Zealand line up like this: 15-Mils Muliaina, 14-Cory Jane, 13-Isaia Toeava, 12-Ma'a Nonu, 11-Joe Rokocoko, 10-Dan Carter, 9-Jimmy Cowan, 8-Kieran Read, 7-Richie McCaw (captain), 6-Adam Thomson, 5-Tom Donnelly, 4-Brad Thorn, 3-Neemia Tialata, 2-Andrew Hore, 1-Tony Woodcock.

    Take winning graciously...
It's the first time since 1942 that you beat the All Blacks 3 games in a row.
