Fly-half Morne Steyn scored all of South Africa's points in a 31-19 victory over New Zealand, the most by a player in a Tri Nations match. More
- The result means South Africa head the Tri Nations table with eight points from New Zealand with four, with the latter having played a game more. Australia have a point having played only one match, one less than the Springboks.
80+1' Would you believe he misses it!! The whistle sounds on a 31-19 victory, with Steyn having scored all South Africa's 31 points - the most of any player in Tri Nations history.
74' Morne Steyn, with all 31 points, becomes the all-time highest points scorer in a Tri Nations game with the resulting kick. 31-19.
72' Habana flying over the top of the breakdown near the try-line, forcing New Zealand back again... scrum to the Boks.
67' South Africa still applying pressure in the New Zealand half. The All Black pass out of the breakdown is too high and straight out the back of the field!!
65' Another sub Keven Mealamu penalised at the breakdown. Morne Steyn kicks three more for a personal 28 points - becoming the highest individual points-scorer in this fixture.
62' WHAT A KICK!! Luke McAlister, only on the pitch for a few moments, strikes a penalty from his own half to make the score 25-19. In these conditions and given he is probably not warmed up yet, that is just brilliant.
57' Morne Steyn kicks a penalty from close in to re-extend the gap to nine points. New Zealand are promising to do great things but will not win if they do not match the clinical approach of their opponents.
51' Donald scores three points from the resulting penalty. The move involved Sivivatu, Muliaina and Conrad Smith.
50' A sweeping counter-attack by New Zealand has the crowd panicking, but it ends in the last few yards with a tackle by the offside Botha. Yellow card for him and 10 minutes in the bin.
48' The pressure building against NZ as we enter phase 10 of the attack... back to Morne Steyn in the pocket, whose drop comes back off the post!!
41' The second half starts. New Zealand kicking from right to left.
40+1' An error-strewn half of rugby then, with shows of skill from the All Blacks - but South Africa have shown their ruthless edge.
40+1' Morne Steyn kicks it from a way out to increase the lead to 22-13 heading into the break.
40' Francois Steyn with a massive kick for Bryan Habana to chase on the increasingly-wet turf... and NZ cannot get the ball to touch as the referee signals a penalty against them!!
37' Fourie du Preez plucked the ball out of the scrum and gave it to Steyn, who wrongfooted the defence and crossed near the posts. He converts for 19-13.
37' MORNE STEYN WITH HIS FIRST TEST TRY!!
33' Skipper Richie McCaw pounding into SA in the final 10 metres, but another handling error puts paid to the attack. SA have the put-in.
32' Morne Steyn kicks from near the 10-metre line. 13-12.
31' All Black Ross sin-binned!! He is penalised for illegally attacking the ball at the breakdown - it looked out though.
29' It probably prevented a try: a Kiwi in the crowd is scandalised. Donald kicks easily enough for 13-9.
28' Pietersen yellow carded!! It is well-deserved as he cracked Cowan across the throat with a straight arm!!
26' NZ lose the ball in their own scrum and when the ball pops out the home end, Morne Steyn is already in position for a drop goal... his effort is well wide.
19' New Zealand have the ball on halfway, Cowan feeding it right to Joe Rokocoko... he spills it. Scrum to the home side.
18' From the resulting scrum NZ again do not bind properly and Steyn kicks for 10-9!! The home fans are back in good voice.
16' Donaldo crunched as the ball drops to him and Pietersen is there to kick it on and chase it to the try-line... Jerome Kaino is back to defend but hesitates and almost allows the Springbok to get there first!! He is tackled near the line and now his side are under pressure...
15' South Africa hit back immediately and are rewarded with a penalty. Fly-half Steyn kicks it. 10-6.
12' Donald converts brilliantly from the touchline to give NZ a seven-point advantage. Perfectly placed.
12' TRY FOR THE ALL BLACKS!! Isaac Ross in the corner after a clever pass from scrum-half Jimmy Cowan. Before that Mils Muliaina and Sitiveni Sivivatu combined to put them in position.
7' The scores are level as Donald sends over a pretty straight penalty kick. Errors from both sides in the opening minutes.
5' Penalty to South Africa as JP Pietersen was fouled as he looked to challenge... Morne Steyn kicks for 3-0.
1' South Africa kick off, attacking to our left.

World Champs ... tri Nations soon
Morne Steyn you BEAUTY !!!

Yup - NZ supporters blaming the ref again.

All Blacks are not good at the moment.. Well since most their players left to Europe. Shame.

Bokke, alweer, alweer, alweer

NZ conceding too many penalties , used to be the most discaplined side side around but now just just stupud stuff. The ref is also a shocker , when Boss was sent of the ball was out 1/2 m , under the rules he could take it , when he tookm it some bok players arrived as well and it looked off side but it certainly wasnt it. He also made some crowd calls as well which is unacceptable

I wonder if the score will stay at 28-19. It will be exactly the same as last weeks game then!!!

penalty, penalty, penalty wheres the discipline kiwis?

Sounds like a great game is unfolding. As a nuetral I am not sure who I want to win!
Gareth

This referee is a complete joke. His decisions are terrible, there is NO WAY the All Black should have been sin binned!!!
