    Time:80'
    • Wales
    • Canada
    • 79' Last chance for Canada but Charvis intercepts and the ref blows for full-time. Tough game for the Welsh but they come through well in the second half with a bonus point. Credit to Canada but ultimately Wales too strong.
    • 78' Another penalty to Canada and Pritchard kicks them into the Wales 22 again. Canada desperately want this bonus point. Dan Petch makes a few yards but the Welsh cover snuffs out the danger.
    • 77' It's relentless from the Canada pack but Wales force a turnover and relieve the pressure.
    • 75' Wales nick the scrum but are forced into touch and Canada forward again win line-out and start to roll towards the Welsh line.
    • 73' Canada win a penalty for a Parker trip and kick for the corner. Their forwards again pound the Wales line. They win another penalty and again kick to the corner. Can they score a fourth try and gain a bonus point? Welsh defence holds firm and Canada earn a scrum five.
    • 69' Duncan Jones on for Adam Jones.
    • 69' Jones kicks the conversion to make it 42-17.
    • 68' Nice burst from Stephen Jones and he pops the ball up for Charvis who stays on his feet well to go over. Wales 40-17 up now.
    • 66' Phillips on for Peel.
    • 65' Gareth Thomas this time bursts through and Canada forced into desperate defence.
    • 64' Jones adds the conversion to make it 35-17.
    • 64' Shanklin breaking the gain at will now, bursting through the Canada midfield and the ball is finally moved to Williams who goes over for his second try in as many minutes. 33-17 Wales.
    • 63' Popham again drives up the middle and the ball is moved right, Shanklin again makes yards and puts Williams in at the corner. 28-17 and Wales look much more relaxed now.
    • 60' Charvis on for Martyn Williams, Dan Petch for Snow.
    • 59' Jones kicks the two points and Wales move 23-17 ahead. Jenkins' subs have worked as Wales have added 10 points since Stephen Jones and Gareth Thomas came on.
    • 58' A series of errors from Canada, Monro drops pass from base of the scrum and the ball pops up for Alun-Wyn Jones who crashes over to give Wales a 21-17 lead.
    • 56' Great break from prop Jenkins, who's put through by Peel. Ball is moved wide to Williams, but the wing drops it as he goes for the corner. Exciting stuff but the quality is questionable?
    • 54' Canada break beautifully from defence, led by the oustanding Williams. But turnover Wales and Shane Williams is clear. The flyer is off - can anyone catch him? But he's fallen over - how did that happen?!?!?!
    • 53' Jones makes it 17-16. Wales will be much releived!
    • 52' Canada concede penalty and Peel takes a quick tap. The ball is finally shipped out to Parker who cuts back in for Wales' first try. 19-14.
    • 50' Shanklin goes straight through the middle but there's no-one with him. Support finally arrives and Wales drive over but ref awards a scrum five. Jones almost scores with his first touch!
    • 48' Wales finding some space now and Popham charges down the wing but Canada defence holds firm with some thumping tackles. Stephen Jones and Gareth Thomas on now, for Hook and Morgan. Tactical substitutions by the look of it.
    • 46' Serious questions being asked of Wales now, as they are two scores behind. Next score is crucial!
    • 44' Williams makes a sniping break and is hauled down just short. Wales again under immense pressure and the Canadians pound their line. Williams sees a little gap and goes through the middle for Canada's third try. Unbelievable! 17-9 Canada!
    • 43' Canada kick penalty for touch and win line-out. Their forwards rumble forward and win another penalty when Gough collapses the maul. Monro again goes for the corner. More of the same from the Canada forwards.
    • 42' Parker breaks the gain line and Rees almost gets through. Morgan's turn now but he fails to release the ball and Canada awarded a penalty.
    • 41' Canada restart. Can Wales get an early score to relieve the pressure?
    • 40' Morgan Williams kicks again and Canada almost clear but they knock on and ref Roland blows for half-time. Well, well. We thought England struggled yesterday but at least they were always ahead on the scoreboard. Who would have thought Wales would be losing at the interval? Coach Jenkins has been under immense pressure recently and will now need to earn his wages!
    • 39' Williams off for repairs and Charvis on. Wales must regroup now. Nobody expected them to be behind on the scoreboard with half-time approaching.
    • 38' Pritchard makes it 12-9 with the conversion.
    • 36' Great defence from Wales and superb break from Shanklin. Wales spread the ball wide but Canada have intercepted, Culpan reaches for the ball on and takes it 10 yards from the Canada line and off he goes. He's got the whole pitch to cover and the Kiwi just about makes it. Excellent from Canada who move 10-9 ahead. Unbelievable stuff!
    • 35' Superb break by Morgan Williams who takes a quick tap penalty. Canada have got their backs up here and Wales under pressure.
    • 33' Mike Petch on for Thiel. Looks like he's gone off for blood repairs.
    • 33' Great kick through by Williams and Canada regather the ball in Wales' 22m area but their forwards come flying in an concede penalty.
    • 30' Munro goes for the corner but Morgan is wise to it and attempts a counter attack. Wales move the ball but Shane Williams knocks on pass from prop Jenkins out wide.
    • 28' Parker looks to spin the ball wide but van der Merwe alomst intercepts. Lucky for Parker he didn't take the ball cleanly!
    • 25' Culpan finds some space down the left and Canada pound the Wales line, they're alomst over but Wales keep the ball up. But they drive again and this time ref Roland awards the try! Fabulous play from Canada! 9-5. Cudmore given the try.
    • 21' Wales have done nothing too flash so far but they have been efficient and kept the scoreboard ticking over. They realise there will not be many gaps at the start of the game so they have just made sure of putting points on the board - unlike England yesterday!
    • 20' Canada's James comes round the side of a ruck and Wales awarded another penalty. Hook, from a metre inside the Canada half, nails a beautiful kick to move Wales 9-0 ahead. Superb effort from Hook.
    • 18' The sun has come out in Nantes and the temperature has gone up by a degree or two. It's starting to look a tad warm down on the pitch.
    • 15' Another penalty for Wales and Hook on target again to give them a 6-0 lead with a wel struck penalty right of the posts.
    • 12' Canada claim their line-out and Monro goes for a drop goal again, but this time Martyn Williams charges down his effort.
    • 11' Wales look to break out of defence and Shane Williams almost put clear. But Canada defence holds tight and Pritchard puts beautiful grubber into the corner.
    • 10' No problems for the stand-off and Wales move 3-0 ahead.
    • 8' Good effort from Hook but the ball bounces back off the post and Canada kick for touch. Wales win the line-out and Popham charges at the Canada midfield and wins another penalty - Cudmore hands in a ruck. Another chance for Hook, much easier this time.
    • 7' Thiel offside and Wales win another penalty, this time Hook is going for goal.
    • 5' Wales have weathered the early storm and win a penalty from a scrum and Hook clears the pressure.
    • 2' Nice chip through by Culpan and van der Merwe almost free down the left. Great start by the Canadians and Monro goes for an early drop goal, but it's unsuccesful. Canada mean business here and as usual their forwards look hard and abrassive!
    • 1' Canada get us underway and win an early scrum just inside the Welsh half.
    • - It's an overcast day in Nantes but most importantly it is dry.
    • - Welcome to the Le Beaujoire stadium in Nantes for Wales' opening World Cup game against Canada. After a poor build up Gareth Jenkins' side need an impressive display to get some momentum going, especially after Australia's thumping of Japan on Saturday.
