    • - What a second game to this Rugby World Cup. Romania came so close to a huge upset today and next up we have Fiji v Namibia, in just about 45 minutes time
    • FT Parks puts the ball out to bring a close to this clash, but the Scots will be breathing a sigh of relief after that performance
    • 78' Once again Patterson fails to add the extras as he pulls the ball across the front of the goal face from the left wing. But Scotland have the four-try bonus point and also have a 10 point lead with only two minutes remaining
    • 77' TRY! SCOTLAND 34-24! Romania have barely had time to breather before Scotland cross over the try-line once again. Patterson puts in most of the hard work skipping through five passes before offloading. And eventually the ball finds its way out to Danielli on the left wing to dive over the line
    • 76' Patterson fails to add the conversion, kicking into the wind and, as it turns out, across the face of goal
    • 75' TRY! SCOTLAND 29-24! Brilliant from Daniellie as he provides support inside Vernon and receives the pass when he's needed before accelerating away and crossing the line unchallenged
    • 70' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 24-24! Scotland step up the pressure right from the re-start with Danielle and Vernon making up some yards before drawing the penalty. Patterson doesn't miss from 20m out (at least not twice in a match) and the Scots are level once again
    • 68' CONVERSION! SCOTLAND 21-24! Dimofte fairly comfortable adds the extra two points and Scotland finds themselves a penalty score down with just over 10 minutes reminaing!
    • 67' TRY! SCOTLAND 21-22! ROMANIA TAKE THE LEAD! Brilliant determination from Romania as they push towards the try-line, eventually forcing Carpo over. The decision goes to the TMO but it's a quick decision as Carpo obviously got the ball down
    • 63' Scotland coach Andy Robinson brings on Cusiter, Rennie and Dickinson in a bid to freshen up his side
    • 60' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 21-17! Romania add another three points through the boot of Dimofte. The difference now is just four points with 20 minutes remaining. Scotland are in all sorts of trouble now
    • 58' Scotland are all over the place as Romania push for the line once again. The Scots manage to hold them back but in the process they give away the penalty and Romania can reduce the deficit once more
    • 55' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 21-14! Romania are simply not giving up on this clash as they grab another three points after a visit to the Scotland 22. They have barely been there without grabbing points and this is going to be a tight finish
    • 53' Jackson makes way for Dan Parks, and Richie Gray is replaced by Nathan Hines for Scotland. Meanwhile Dumbrava goes off the field for Romania
    • 52' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 21-11! Scotland are handed another penalty after Romania are caught offside and this time Patterson decides to go for the three points, which he successfully kicks to put a converted try-difference between the two teams
    • 49' The Scots turn down three points after Romania are penalised as Jackson punts into touch 5m out from Romania's tryline. The Scots win the lineout but again Romania again manage to defend well enough to clear
    • 47' Patterson gets within a metre of the tryline but cannot quite stretch out to score as Romania's scrambling defence does the job and clears the danger
    • 45' Both sides have made a very scrappy start to this second half, and Patterson has an early kick at goal only to pull the ball wide and waste the chance
    • 43' Centre Tiberius Dimofte nearly breaks free but Scotland’s scrambling defence does just about enough and Dimofte flings a forward pass to Gal and Scotland escape
    • 41' Patterson gets the second half underway …
    • HT That was the final kick of the half and Romania go in trailing by just seven points. Time to get yourselves a cup of tea or another beer before we return for the second half
    • 40+2 Dumbrava again pulls his kick wide of the left upright as he fails to add the conversion. But Romania will be pleased with that end of the first half
    • 40+1 TRY! SCOTLAND 18-11! Romania successfully collect the lineout and set the rolling maul towards the line, eventually forcing their way across with Macovei emerging at the bottom with the ball!
    • 40' Scotland are penalised for offside and Romania choose to go for the lineout. The penalty is just inside their own half and they are playing into the wind so that would have been a tricky kick to land
    • 38' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 18-6! Patterson adds another three points to Scotland's tally to stretch their lead once again with just two minutes remaining in this half
    • 34' Sirbu puts the kick through for Ciuntu but the Romanian winger gets unlucky with the bounce, although he is then pulled up for offside as well and Scotland escape
    • 32' Dumbrava pulls his kick just to the left of the posts. They should have gone for another scrum and continued to push for the line but that's a matter of experience
    • 31' Eventually Romania earn themselves another penalty when Scotland collapse the scrum and Dumbrava will have another chance to kick for points ...
    • 28' Romania push for the tryline but its painful progress with Lazar ... they are just seven metres from the Scottish line. A pick up and go from Ursache gets them another couple of metres and then also the scrum as ref Pearson decides he can't see the ball amidst the mass of bodies
    • 25' Scotland look a little impatient with the ball in hand at the moment as Kelly Brown fails to hold on to a pass and drops the ball, handing Romania another scrum albeit inside their own half
    • 23' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 15-6! Tincu goes to win a turnover ball on his feet and eventually Ross Ford is penalised for not releasing the ball, leaving Dumbrava a pretty straight forward kick to double Romania's tally
    • 21' CONVERSION! SCOTLAND 15-3! Patterson makes no mistakes this time around as he thumps the ball between the posts and adds the extras.
    • 20' TRY! SCOTLAND 13-3! Blair finds Patterson, finds Evans from the scrum and Evans offloads to Ansbro who charges through two tackles before crossing over for Scotland's second try
    • 18' Sean Lamont breaks on the right wing in acres of space and feed Danielli, who is away. He steps inside and takes the long way round before finding Patterson. But Pearson blows up for a forward pass and another move breaks down for Scotland
    • 15' Blair feeds Max Evans, who is beaks for the try with Danielli in support, but he is called back as the referee Dave Pearson judges that Ansbro had crossed in front of the original pass
    • 13' Richie Gray is penalised for not rolling away in the tackle and Romania will have a scrum just inside their own half … but nothing comes of it as Scotland dominate
    • 11' PENATLY! SCOTLAND 8-3! Romania do get themselves on the scoreboard this time as Dumbrava kicks right in between the posts from almost exactly the same spot as the last night. Nice adjustment from the Romanian flyhalf
    • 8' Romania get their first kick at goal right from the restart, when Scotland are penalised but the wind pulls Dumbrava’s kick across the front of the posts and wide of the right upright
    • 7' Absolutely shocking from Patterson as he fails to get the ball off the ground even with his conversion attempt! The ball fell slightly just as he went to kick it and he completely shanked his kick. It remains just 8-0 to Scotland
    • 6' TRY! SCOTLAND 8-0! Ansbro offloads to Blair and the Scotland scrum-half has little trouble in beating Dumitras to cross over the line
    • 5' Patterson kicks up the centre of the field into a huge amount of space to move up the field once again. Patterson takes on the line. Ansbro breaks before offloading …
    • 4' Patterson makes another break, Blair recycles but a terrible pass leaves Barclay trying to pick up the ball from his bootlaces. He fumbles and it'll be a Romanian scrum on the half-way line
    • 3' PENALTY! SCOTLAND 3-0! No problems for Chris Patterson as he thumps the ball between the uprights to earn the first three points of the game and his 789th points of his career
    • 3' Scotland are immediately on the attack and skip past the first tackle with ease eventually earning themselves a penalty as Romania are penalised for being offside …
    • 1' Here we go then, Tincu gets the match underway for Romania in windy Invercargill …
