Live Comments

  1. 6-3 - A tasty forehand winner down the line on the return-of-serve sets up MATCH POINT for Maria Sharapova, and after battering the teenager with a series of forehands she only needs one to close out the 6-4 6-3 victory comfortably and avenge her third-round loss to Radwanska from last year's US Open. The Russian really wanted this one, and will next face Vera Zvonareva in the final round.

  2. 5-3 - Sharapova survives another scare and is one game away from her second final of the year.

  3. 40-40 - After hitting her third double fault of the match, Sharapova is made to save a pair of BREAK POINTS, but does manage to work her way back to DEUCE.

  4. 4-3 - Radwanska rushes through a hold to 30 to stay in touch.

  5. 4-2 - A LOVE-Service game for Sharapova is wrapped up with a huge backhand winner down the line set up by that big first-serve. The Russian is closing in on her 13th win in 13 matches in 2008.

  6. 3-2 - Radwanska hits her second double fault of the match to hand Sharapova a pair of BREAK POINTS, and the Russian collects on the second. We know we've said it before, but that really could be the beginning of the end.

  7. 2-2 - Sharapova holds comfortably this time....

  8. 2-1 - Radwanska pulls ahead, doing enough with her second serve to save a break point and eventually hold to DEUCE.

  9. 1-1 - We spoke far too soon, as Radwanska's brilliant returns of serve and Maria's terrible serving allow the young world number 20 to break to LOVE with Sharapova hitting her second DOUBLE FAULT of the match on TRIPLE BREAK POINT....

  10. 0-1 - Sharapova really beginning to brutalise her rival now, starts off the second set with a break of serve. This could take a turn for the worse for the Polish teenager very quickly.

  11. 4-6 - Sharapova needs just one of three SET POINTS, as the Russian again manipulates the angles perfectly to bully her opponent from side to side and eventually claim the opener with a gorgeous backhand fired finely across court. A good first set lasts 48 minutes.

  12. 4-5 - Radwanska stays in this opener with a nervy hold to DEUCE, but Sharapova will now serve for the first set.

  13. 3-5 - Sharapova fires a huge kick-serve for the service winner and the 5-3 lead.

  14. 40-40 - Brilliant defence from the Australian Open champion, and Radwanska misses out on a chance to break right back sending an overhead smash just long!!

  15. 3-4 - Sharapova breaks to 30 with a brutal forehand winner whipped across court on the return of serve! Radwanska seemed to have all of the traction in the world, but the momentum now appears to have swung the way of the Australian Open champion.

  16. 3-3 - Four consecutive errors from Radwanska and Sharapova holds to LOVE.

  17. 3-2 - A very strong hold by Radwanska to 30. We're in for quite a match.

  18. 2-2 - Sharapova holds with a sweet forehand winner down the line to level at 2-2, and the Russian is getting a bit emotional out there.

  19. 40-40 - Sharapova saves yet another BREAK POINT, as Hawk-Eye confirms that a Radwanska return was just long....

  20. 40-40 - Radwanska again earns herself a chance to break, and does well to force Sharapova into the corner and seemingly beat with net coverage, but the Russian pulls an amazing backhand pass from the Ad Corner entirely out of nowhere to collect the winner and get back to DEUCE. Genius from the former world number one.

  21. 2-1 - Sharapova coming out very aggressive in the third game, fires a series of winners to break back

  22. 2-0 - Radwanska with an early chance to break.... And she collects after Maria Sharapova fires an unforced forehand error into the net!! Sloppy stuff from the world number five, who was so utterly dominate yesterday in beating 17-year-old Caroline Wozniacki in under one hour.

  23. 1-0 - Radwanska looks very good in her first service game, opening up with a hold to 15.....

  24. ----- - Welcome to our LIVE text comments and scoring of the second Doha semi-final as Australian Open champion Maria Sharapova tries to maintain her perfect 2008 record and avenge her third-round loss to Polish teenager Agnieszka Radwanska from last year's US Open.
