The pressure is still very much on Fish, who has only reached one Masters Series final in his career before, way back in 2003 where he blew two match points before losing to Andy Roddick in Cincinnati. And M-Fish pulls through thanks to a couple of blazing first serves, and wouldn't you know it? Roger Federer is yet to get on the scoreboard.....
2-0 - Fish has shockingly set up an early BREAK POINT against the world number one!! And his aggressive play pays off!!!! The American stays in a mid-lengthed rally with the Swiss and fires a beautiful forehand winner across court to take the first break and a 2-0 lead.

Federer, who has struggled with a bout of mono prior to this tournament, is 5-0 lifetime against Mardy Fish with his last victory over the American coming at this venue in 2005. Fish, who beat David Nalbandian in a thriller in the previous round, will serve first.
