Live Comments

  1. 4-6 - GAME, SET, MATCH DJOKOVIC. And he seals it with an ace!! It was far from a vintage performance from the defending champion. But as they'll tell you, all you can do is beat what's put in front of you...and he did that!!

  2. 4-5 - Well well!! Djokovic gets the break and he's suddenly on the verge of taking this match, for what would be a seriously clinical, if unconvincing victory.

  3. 4-4 - INTO THE NET goes the second.

  4. 4-4 - THREE BREAK POINTS TO DJOKOVIC...He blazes a forehand long to waste the first one.

  5. 4-4 - Djokovic takes his seventh consecutive service game to edge us nearer to a tie-break.

  6. 4-3 - Soderling really is looking up for this. He ripped into a few corking forehands in that one.

  7. 3-3 - Djokovic holds, but not without resistance from Soderling. This set is looking like it might go the distance.

  8. 3-2 - Soderling wrong-foots Djokovic cleverly, and keeps us with serve. Djokovic missed a backhand pass by about 3,000 miles in that game, which as you will know is VERY VERY UNUSUAL.

  9. 2-2 - Smash, bang, wallop. That was a slick service game from Djokovic and we're barely racing through the points in this set.

  10. 2-1 - Soderling is hanging in there. Still we go with serve in the second set.

  11. 1-1 - Djokovic is loving his drop-shots today, and he tries another one that doesn't quite come off. No matter, he holds and on we go.

  12. 1-0 - Soderling comes on strongly and takes the opening game of the second set with some neat groundstrokes.

  13. 4-6 - THERE IT IS!!! Djokovic cleans up the first set with a commanding service game. He took a while to get going, but the defending champion looks in the mood now.

  14. 4-5 - Soderling delays the inevitable, with a good hold.

  15. 3-5 - LOVELY STUFF!! Djokovic plays a deluxe drop-shot to leave Soderling beached at the back of the court. He's starting to turn it on now. Soderling to serve to stay in the set.

  16. 3-4 - DJOKOVIC BREAKS!! Having been well below his best in the opening games, he suddenly comes to live. Soderling makes two double faults to aid his cause, but there were a couple of BELTING BACKHAND winners from Djokovic too.

  17. 3-3 - Djokovic with yet another unconvincing service game, but he finds a moment of magic with a sublime winner to hint at what he's capable of.

  18. 3-2 - Good, solid game from Soderling, who is serving well and really going at the forehand winners. A couple of beauties in the mix.

  19. 2-2 - Another real struggle for Djocky, who is pushed hard by Soderling and JUST holds. Soderling looks in confident mood here, and he's striking the ball with real purpose.

  20. 2-1 - Easy service hold for Soderling. Straightforward stuff.

  21. 1-1 - Great game from Soderling, who comes very close to an opening break. He opens his body a couple of times to unleash cracking inside-to-out forehand winners. But Djokovic holds on and holds serve.

  22. 1-0 - Robin of Sweden (see what I did there) holds serve with relative comfort to get things under way.

  23. 0-0 - The first game on centre court today brings together world number three Novak Djokovic and Robin Soderling. Soderling wins the toss and will serve first.

  24. - - Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE!! coverage of the Toronto Masters!
