  1. 6-4 - And Dementieva has the win - a double fault from Keothavong brings up three match points. She manages to save the first two but then on the third Dementieva forces her wide before guiding a final winner down the line. A credible performance from Keothavong but too many unforced errors (38) cost her in the end.

  2. 5-4 - Cracking forehand into the corner from Dementieva and then a wide shot from Keothavong ends yet another tricky service game for the Russian. Again she had to save two break points against the Brit but Keothavong couldn't take either and you have to fear for her now - she is serving to stay in the match. Dementieva will also be concerned her serve has started creaking again.

  3. 4-4 - Poor game from Keothavong as she really tightened up when she needed to be loose. A fluffed drop shot cost her one point and then she went long to be broken to 15. The Russian breaks straight back without having to do much.

  4. 3-4 - ANOTHER BREAK FROM KEOTHAVONG - more ropey serving from the Russian and the Brit takes full advantage - she has come from a break down to now lead this second set with a break.

  5. 3-3 - Keothavong holds to 30 to draw level and she is starting to grow into this match.

  6. 3-2 - Great hitting from Keothavong and she break straight back to 30. Superb on the final point as she defended very well before attacking once the Russian came to the net. A volley into the net from the Russian saw the Briton take the game.

  7. 3-1 - Disaster for Keothavong as she is broken to 15 but she only has herself to blame as she starts and finishes the game with a double fault. It is already looking like a "what might have been" evening.

  8. 2-1 - Keothavong with her fifth break point of the second set already but again she can't convert. Dementieva not looking as secure on her serve as she had been earlier.

  9. 1-1 - Keothavong giving a very credible performance here - she holds to 30 to level matters in the second set.

  10. 1-0 - Demetieva survives a major scare in her first service game of the second set. Two great returns in a row saw Keothavong get THREE break points but some fantastic play from Dementieva saw here get it back to 40-40. However then the errors started creeping in again and Keothavong got another break point during a long spell bouncing back-and-forth from deuce but the Russian finally dug out the hold.

  11. 6-3 - A break to 15 sees Dementieva take the first set. A fantastic forehand get in the corner gave her two break points and then Keothavong went long on the first set point to give the Russian the opener.

  12. 5-3 - The Russian is known for having a dodgy serve but it looked very good in Beijing and it looks very good again today. She holds to 15 and is getting over 80% of her first serves in.

  13. 4-3 - Two shots in a row from Dementieva that were too aggresive sees Keothavong hold again to 15 but you feel this match is all about the Russian. Keothavong is limited and can only rack up games when Dementieva errors.

  14. 4-2 - Two service holds to love in a row for Dementieva - a mixture of dominant play from the Russian and a few dodgy shots from Keothavong saw that come to pass.

  15. 3-2 - Keothavong should settle down now after getting her first hold on the board - it was a good one too - she holds to 15.

  16. 3-1 - Dominant service game from Dementieva this time - she holds to love and seems to have found her rhythm which could be bad news for the Brit.

  17. 2-1 - Well we have now had three breaks in a row because Dementieva has just managed to break straight back again to 30.

  18. 1-1 - Fantastic from Keothavong who comes from 40-15 down to break straight back. She did very well to just keep herself in rallies with solid if somewhat conservative play. Dementieva got impatient and tried a few shots she shouldn't have and we are level.

  19. 1-0 - A worrying sign in the opening game as Keothavong is broken to 15 - Dementieva just had too much power for the Brit in that game.

  20. - - Both players warming up now - this is the first meeting between the two but you have to imagine it will be tough for Keothavong against the 2004 finalist.
