  8. 1-1 - Monfils had the trainer back out on court briefly at the end of that set and isn't looking particularly happy at the moment. But he has got himself on the board in this third set holding his opening service game

  9. 1-0 - Fish gets off the mark in the third set with an opening service hold

  10. 6-2 - BAM, THERE IT IS! FISH HAS THE SECOND SET! Monfils throws his forehand wide to leave Fish with two set points ... He only needs the one though drawing Monfils in with a drop shot, pushing him back again with a lob and then putting away an easy forehand to the open part of the court

  11. 5-2 - Fish holds when Monfils dumps a forehand into the bottom of the net and the Frenchman will have to serve to stay in the set

  12. 4-2 - The intensity of the opening set has completely dissipated in this second set as Monfils looks unlikely to get back into it and Fish seems on content to cruise towards a two sets lead

  13. 4-1 - Monfils's injury issues don't seem to be affecting Fish too much as he races through another service game to re-assert his dominance in this match

  14. 3-1 - Much better from Monfils who holsd to at least get himself off the mark in this set

  15. 3-0 - Monfils is now receiving a medical time out and seems to have some sort of problem with his right patella. He is having his knee strapped pretty heavily just below the joint

  16. 3-0 - A love service game from Fish helps him to cement the break and it looks like Monfils has called for the trainer at this change of ends

  17. 2-0 - FISH BREAKS! Fish comes out on top with a forehand volley into the open court after a interchange at the net and earns himself two break points ... He only needs the one though as Monfils dumps a very tame forehand into the net and the Frenchman really needs to regain his composure if he is to stick with Fish now

  19. 7-5 - FISH TAKES THE SET! Fish makes no mistake this time as he does battle with Monfils from the baseline eventually grabbing the set when the Frenchman pulls an attempted cross court backhand well wide

  20. 6-5 - Fish puts all the pressure back on Monfils coming up with an unreturnable serve to hold and once again leave himself just one game from this opening set

  21. 5-5 - An injection of pace on a forehand down the line draws an error from Fish as he earns himself two set points ... Monfils saves the first with a backhand lob after Fish opts to chip his backhand return ... and the second when Fish hits a forehand volley wide having found his anticipation so good he actually arrived to the ball too early! But Monfils recovers well after that blip and holds to keep things level

  22. 5-4 - Fish leaves himself just one game from the set after a battling service game during which he has to save a number of break points

  23. 4-4 - FISH BREAKS BACK! Fish earns himself a couple of break back points. An ace from Monfils saves the first but Fish gets it at the second attempt when another volley from the Frenchman goes astray

  24. 3-4 - MONFILS BREAKS! This time it's a poor backhand volley into the net from Fish that sets up the break point ... but he can't take advantage of it either narrowly missing a backhand passing shot down the line. Fish smacks a smash into the bottom of the net though to gifts Monfils a second chnace ... and this time he gets it with a cross court forehand passing shot and a yell of "allez"!

  25. 3-3 - Fish earns the first break point of the match as Monfils dumps a poor backhand volley into the bottom of the net. But again the Frenchman follows it up with a couple of big serves and goes on to hold

  26. 3-2 - Big serving is the order of the day to get both these players out of potential trouble and Monfils is clearly getting annoyed with himself for not taking advantage of his opportunities

  27. 2-2 - These guys really are having to work hard on their serve as Monfils holds from deuce again with a backhand winner drilled straight down the line

  28. 2-1 - Fish is also pushed to deuce as Monfils produces a acutely angled forehand passing shot but once again the server comes out on top. Still on serve

  29. 1-1 - Monfils has to battle through his opening service game with Fish pushing him to deuce, but the Frenchman comes through in the end with the 1-2 punch of a huge serve out wide followed by an equally huge forehand across court from the Fish return

  30. 1-0 - A good start for the American as he cruises through an opening service to get himself off the mark
