  1. 6-2 - Roddick brings up his first break point with some inspired tennis, before a Murray ace takes the game to the first deuce of the match! A further ace brings up a match point, but this is overturned under a Hawkeye challenge from Roddick! It doesn't matter though as the shot of the match from Murray brings up a match point and he takes it with a double-handed backhand winner. Great start to the season from Murray this!

  2. 5-2 - Some big serving from Roddick gives him the game to love. Murray is now serving for the match.

  3. 5-1 - Roddick really steps it up here, and wins the longest rally of the match with a great cross-court volley to take it to 15-30. However, Murray booms a double-handed backhand down the line to take it to 30-30 before closing the game out with some big first serves. Roddick must now serve to save the match.

  4. 4-1 - Roddick is really trying here! He just can't get the better of Murray. Murray's stats of 24 winners and 9 unforced errors to Roddicks 11 winners and 22 errors tell the story of this match. Murray brings up another break point with some brilliant groundstrokes and takes it at the first time of asking when Roddick hits the ball long.

  5. 3-1 - Murray is playing superbly here. Roddick tries to make an impression first against Murray's backhand and then against the forehand, but Murray conjures up winners on both sides. A big serve wins the game. Roddick is slipping away here.

  6. 2-1 - Some outrageous play at the net midway through this game! Roddick arobatically keeps the ball in before the players exchange some quickfire volleys. Murray comes out on top, and then takes the game to 15-40 as Roddick makes an unforced error. Murray breaks, and now takes a firm grip on the match.

  7. 1-1 - The match is delayed sightly as the net falls apart! A wooden pole keeping the net at the correct height falls over after Murray hits a ball into the net. The delay might have broken his concentration as he double faults straight away, 0-30. Some great strokes from Murray bring it back to 30-30 however, with a booming cross-court forehand the pick of them. He then takes the game with a big smash. Roddick missed out on a chance to pressure the Murray serve here.

  8. 0-1 - Roddick takes the first game of the second set. Murray forces him to work for it though, he takes Roddick to 40-30 before a big serve wins the game.

  9. 6-4 - Murray comfortably wraps this set up with an ace. He's conceded only five points on his serve all set, and has out aced Andy Roddick as well. Roddick hasn't done much wrong here, but he's now got a lot to do. No sign of Murray's back injury either.

  10. 5-4 - Roddick seems really fired up here and quickly dispatches Murray to love. Roddick hasn't really threatened Murray on his serve yet, but has to now if he wants to stay in this set.

  11. 5-3 - Roddick goes 15-30 up on Murray's serve, but Murray shows that he can serve big too with his first ace of the match. He then wraps the game up with another ace. Roddick must now serve to stay in the set.

  12. 4-3 - Murray is a joy to watch at times. As the rallies get longer you can just see him imposing himself on the play. He wins one point with a trademark drop shot, and another after manoeuvering Roddick around the court to take the game to 30-30. Roddick avoids any further problems with two big serves to take the game.

  13. 4-2 - Murray leads 40-0 and looks to have won the game before Roddick hits the shot of the match, a running backhand down the line when he looked out of the point. Murray still wraps up the game comfortably though.

  14. 3-2 - Murray takes a 0-30 lead on the Roddick serve after a brilliant cross court forehand. He then gets three break points after Roddick puts a forehand long, and gets the first break after a slight Murray mis-hit eludes Roddick.

  15. 2-2 - Murray holds to love, taking the game with an exquisite sliced lob which Roddick just cannot reach.

  16. 1-2 - Roddick is serving really well here. He takes a 30-0 lead before two unforced errors even things up at 30-30. Murray has half a chance at a passing shot, but puts it into the net and Roddick takes the game with the first ace of the match.

  17. 1-1 - Murray leads 40-0 before Roddick pulls it back to 40-30, but a big first serve from Murray gives him the game.

  18. 0-1 - Roddick holds serve quite comfortably. Murray looks to be moving fine, but can't trouble Roddick's powerful serve in this opening game.

  19. - - The players are out on court warming up. Murray looks to be moving okay and fingers crossed that there's no sign of his injury.

  20. - - Roddick beat Nadal's conqueror Monfils in the semi-final yesterday whilst Murray beat Federer, again!

  21. - - Murray had threatened to pull out of the final with a back problem, but does hold a 5-3 winning record over the big serving American.

  22. - - Good afternoon and welcome tennis fans to the final of the ATP Doha tournament between Andy Roddick and defending champion Andy Murray.
