CORNET IS THROUGH TO THE FOURTH ROUND!!! She takes the final set 6-2 to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career. Last year's semi-finalist Hantuchova came up short in the final set, she wasted some good chances and made too many unforced errors (40 to Cornet's 22).

Hantuchova is not ready to go quite yet! Cornet is the player who seems to be struggling now, handing her opponent a break of serve with a seriously sloppy game of errors that includes a double fault.
0-4 - Hantuchova returns to the court, but she can do nothing to stop Cornet race to a service game and take a 4-0 lead. Surely she must win the next two games to stand any chance.

Hantuchova is broken in the opening game of the deciding set. One point sums it up. She comes into the net and with a chance to smash lets the ball drop to shoulder height and sends back a weak double-handed backhand volley. Cornet gleefully sends it back with interest to win the point.

Cornet has a wobble on her service game, but she wins a fine rally to take the match to a final set. Hantuchova came to the net, but she failed to put away two chances and Cornet wrong-footed her to win the point.

Hantuchova gets a break back, but Cornet still has another chance to serve for the second set.

Hantuchova double-faults, then sends a woeful backhand into the net to hand Cornet a second break.
2-4 - Cornet is really starting to play well now, ripping a lovely backhand winner down the line to close out on her serve and lead 4-2.

CORNET BREAKS!!! She takes Hantuchova to deuce and secures the break with an epic forehand winner that her opponent has no chance of returning.
1-1 - Cornet holds, but she is looking very vulnerable on serve. Hantuchova fights back from 15-40 to take the game to deuce, but Cornet sees it home.
1-0 - Impressive opening game from Hantuchova, who seals it with a neat inside-out forehand volley winner.

Hantuchova takes the opening set with a break in the 10th game. On the balance of play she deserves the lead, but you feel Cornet is yet to find her best form.

CORNET BREAKS! The Frenchwoman is right back in the set after going after the Hantuchova serve.
4-2 - Cornet clings on to hold her serve, after being taken to deuce. Hantuchova has produced 11 winners so far to Cornet's six.
4-1 - Hantuchova is cruising towards the first set now. The pair met in the Australian Open last year by the way - Hantuchova won that one, although Cornet triumphed in the most recent meeting of the pair.

Hantuchova has hit the ground running in this match. She takes the first break, attacking the Cornet serve with big groundstrokes and has the momentum in the opening set.
2-1 - Cornet is going for her shots on the Hanuchova serve. She finds one superb winner on her forehand, but a couple more fly wide of the target.

Cornet has never been further than the third round at a Grand Slam. She turned 19 yesterday though, so there is plenty of time! Current world ranking, 16.

Hantuchova reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open last year, her best ever result at a Grand Slam. She is currently ranked 21 in the world and has won three WTA tour singles titles in her career.
