  1. 6-2 - Nadal's passage to the fourth round is sealed!! He will play Fernando Gonzalez of Chile, who has just beaten Richard Gasquet in an epic five-setter in the Margaret Court Arena.

  2. 5-2 - The Haas challenge is wilting rapidly now. Nadal breaks again and will serve for the match!

  3. 4-2 - Relentless from Nadal, who wins another service game to love. At 40-0 he comes to the net and bats away at least three attempted winners from Haas, before the German makes an error and concedes the point.

  4. 3-1 - Nadal marches on with a comprehensive win on his serve.

  5. 2-1 - The writing is on the wall now for Haas, as Nadal breaks to go 2-1 ahead.

  6. 1-1 - Haas holds, before Nadal serves out to love for the fifth time to make it 1-1.

  7. 6-2 - Nadal wraps up the second set with a fierce serve to the Haas forehand. The German gets a racket to it, but the ball goes nowhere and Nadal leads 2-0. As a notable aside, Haas got so frustrated during that game he hit a ball out of the Rod Laver Arena...which is quite an achievement.

  8. 5-2 - Nadal has the double break! He really is going for those forehands, which he is hitting flatter than usual. The result has been a host of winners, but also an unusally high number of unforced errors.

  9. 4-2 - Nadal holds and moves 4-2 ahead in the second set.

  10. 3-2 - Nadal wins a superbly entertaining game with the help of a little luck. On break point he mis-hits a forehand, Haas leaves it, but it lands inside the line and the world number one strikes first in the second set.

  11. 2-2 - All with serve after four games of the second set. Here are some match stats for you: Haas had made 16 unforced errors to Nadal's 6. Nadal has produced 26 winners to Haas's 16. Both have served three aces.

  12. 6-4 - Nadal's in-to-out forehand is working a treat. He plays one beautifully to set up three set points and needs just one to go 1-0 ahead.

  13. 5-4 - Haas saves a couple of set points. He has now denied Nadal eight times on his serve. But now the unseeded German must break the world number one to stay in the set.

  14. 5-3 - The players exchange holds of serve, then Rafa blasts down his second ace to complete a love service game and take a 5-3 lead. Haas will serve to stay in the set.

  15. 3-2 - Nadal breaks for the second time and now it's the world number one who has the momentum. Haas is not very happy with himself, prompting some rather colourful German vocabulary!

  16. 2-2 - Nadal races to a love game to bring things level at 2-2. The best moment is a straightford smash, which he absolutely hammers home.

  17. 1-2 - Nadal misses out on five break points, before Haas sends a forehand wide and hands the Spaniard a break. We're back on serve.

  18. 0-2 - HAAS BREAKS!!! The German has hit the ground running. He sends Nadal one way, then the other, before crashing a forehand winner away to send a message of intent to the world number one.

  19. 0-1 - Haas takes his opening service game with authority to lead 1-0.

  20. - - Good morning and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the third-round match between world number one Rafael Nadal and Tommy Haas.
