Melzer goes for broke and it pays off!! He just went for it three times on the Murray serve and each time produced wonderful winners.

What a game from Murray!! In includes a beast of a forehand return the leaves Melzer stationary. Melzer double-faults to hand Murray a love break. He will serve for the match.
4-1 - Melzer has a real chance to break the Murray serve, but he wastes two opportunities and Murray serves out to move closer to the win.
3-1 - Melzer ends a run of 11 straight games from Murray by saving two break points and playing a fine winner to bring it back to 3-1. It's surely too little, too late.
3-0 - Murray races in to get a drop-shot from Melzer and sends a lovely chip over his head to set up game point. He then cracks a topspin forehand home to go 3-0 up. Melzer has no answer.

This is absolutely stunning stuff from Murray. He blows away the Melzer serve for a break and who would bet against another bagel to wrap up the match.
1-0 - That's nine straight games for Murray and Melzer is beginning to look like a startled bunny rabbit out there.

Murray really is playing beautifully now. He absolutely smelts a cross-court forehand winner to set up three set points...and at the second attempt plays a wonderful volley winner to wrap up the second set.

Murray breaks! Melzer is making some sloppy mistakes now and the world number four Murray is exploiting them hungrily.
1-0 - Murray trails 0-40 on his serve, but he fights back and bangs down an ace to complete the recovery and lead 1-0.

Melzer sends a topspin backhand into the net and MURRAY WINS THE FIRST SET WITH A BREAK!!!
6-5 - Ace number four for Murray takes him to 40-0 and he follows it with number five to wrap up a very easy game.
5-5 - Melzer really is playing well. He whips a lovely winner past Murray to seal a hold and they head towards the tie-break.
5-4 - Murray ends a run of three successive games for Melzer with a decent service game. Melzer is winning the battle of the drop-shots and he's coming into the net at every opportunity. In some ways this is playing out like a grass-court clash.
4-4 - Melzer races to a love service game. The pair have served two aces each so far.

Melzer breaks back! The Austrian is really starting to play now and he takes on the Murray serve superbly to get himself back in the set.
4-1 - A couple of thumping serves from Murray put him 4-1 ahead. He's made the perfect start.

Murray breaks!! Melzer comes into the net and the British number one rips a lovely backhand cross-court winner to seal the deal.
2-1 - Murray looks relaxed and confident out there, he's striking the ball well and going for his shots. 2-1.

1-0 - Good start from Murray, who wraps up the opening service game with a lovely forehand drop-shot. Both players are fans of the cheeky drop-shot, which should make for some dramatic and exciting points.
