  1. - - Nadal wins the Indian Wells Masters quite easily in the wind; Murray had a better first-serve percentage but was nowhere near Nadal's first-serve points won figure.

  2. 6-2 - Nadal eases to three match points, to the delight of the crowd; both players play it cagey in a long rally but Murray is finally forced to reach a little too far and his shot is wide.

  3. 5-2 - Stunning lob from Nadal starts the game but then Murray chases back to get another lob later in the game for one of the shots of the match. That made it 30-15 but Nadal responds with a sublime curling pass. He then draws Murray into the net once more to bring up a break point as Murray can do nothing with a volley. Then Murray fires long with the next shot so Nadal is just one game away now.

  4. 4-2 - Another poor backhand into net puts Nadal closer to victory - hold to 30 and not even a hint of nerves.

  5. 3-2 - Some expletives early in the game from Murray as Nadal powers home a volley of his that just hung up in the air. A forehand into the corner later from Nadal brings up a break point and then the Spaniard wins a superb point which had some amazing gets from both players. His body language has been better throughout and he is now close to victory. A break and a set up.

  6. 2-2 - Nadal has no trouble holding again to 15 and Murray had to really work for the one point he did get as he raced to the net to pass home a cross court drop volley from Nadal. The Spaniard still looking the strong player.

  7. 1-2 - A double fault from Murray makes it 30-30 and you feared for a moment the Scot would be broken - but then he wins a good long point and follows it with a strong serve to earn the hold.

  8. 1-1 - Strong, controlled play again from Nadal as he holds to 15. The forehand is in tune for the Spaniard today and has been a key weapon.

  9. 0-1 - Good response from Murray who opens up the second set with a hold to love - time for him to rip up the playbook and start again - and too be fair - he has been know to completely turn around performances in the blink of an eye in the past. He just needs a spark to ignite him.

  10. 6-1 - Nadal holds to 30 to wrap up the set. Very impressive from the world number one - he really is in complete control of this match - Murray just can't seem to adapt his game to the conditions.

  11. 5-1 - Nadal with great defensive play before guiding a volley into the open court - that's another break to 30 for the Spaniard and Murray is starting to get frustrated now - he is really being bossed around.

  12. 4-1 - Nadal with a hold to 30 as a drop from Murray goes short. Not the match to be trying touch shots - the wind will eat them up.

  13. 3-1 - Nadal breaks after another long game. Murray saved one break point but couldn't save a second. The Spaniard is coping better with the wind and seems to be giving himself more time on each shot during the longer rallies. Murray wanted a let on the point that brought up break point because he saw some rubbish flying in the air. Really tough conditions but Rafa's style seems more suited at the moment.

  14. 2-1 - Nadal's controlled aggression on the longer points looks a little bit more potent in the early stages here. He holds again to 15 with a bullet of a cross court backhand sealing the game.

  15. 1-1 - Nadal misses a lob chance on 30-30 which would have brought up a break point. And then on 40-40 Murray wins out on an epic point full of quality when Nadal went just a little long. Murray finally holds but he had to work for it.

  16. 1-0 - Nadal wins the opening game with a hold to 30. The only rally that really developed was the last point which was played cautiously by both players. Murray finally fired into the net to give the Spaniard the game. Solid enough serving from Nadal despite a double fault added to the mix.

  17. 0-0 - Nadal serving first in this opening game.

  9. blah blah blah , thats all am hearing fom murray's­ fan. Just admit he was well beating by a better player­ who can play in any condition anytime, anywhere­ anyplace, stop whinging about him loosing some energy­ with fed's game, didn't nadal play 3 setter­ against nalb, still he was able to beat delp in 2 sets,­ so i dont wanna hear ur moan again cos it aint cutting­ aight.

  10. nadal should he was all class and showed his physical­ and mental strength.. murray i think has alot and i­ mean alot of potenial but he is not where nadal is...­ nadal really is perfecting his game, he went from clay­ court king to a guy that is comfortable on all courts..­ murray i think is weaker than nadal mentally and it­ showed.. i think nadal even got him shouting curses on­ the court..

  18. Comment 77 - then why did Murray beat him the previous­ two times they played? Guess you're just too much­ of an a$$ to realize that the better player on the day­ wins. Nadal was better today in the difficult­ conditions. He also got the breaks on the calls. That­ doesn't mean you need to talk smack about Murray­ who just lost for the second time this year. He's­ playing at #2 level and is an outstanding tennis­ player. Guess pulling for a guy on top is what works­ best for someone with no class or sportsman ship like­ you. When Murray is number one, I'm sure you'll­ be all over his nuts.
