  1. 6-3 - THERE IT IS! Serena seals the win with another break as Venus puts a backhand into the net! It was far from a classic match, but Serena was able to recover from a woeful second set to comeback and win it!

  2. 4-3 - Serena hobbles back to her chair after Venus holds; Serena had her chances to break back in that game as she went for broke with her returns but the injury looks to be affecting her. Who knows which way this match is going to go now?

  3. 4-2 - Venus breaks - and Serena looks to be carrying an injury! She is limping around the baseline; perhaps it is a blister?

  4. 4-1 - The writing is on the wall now; a second break for Serena, who has upped her intensity markedly after a peculiarly poor second-set showing.

  5. 3-1 - Venus holds for the first time in the third set before drawing her breath to try and mount some pressure on the Serena serve...but little sister looks in no mood to relinquish at the moment.

  6. 2-0 - Serena looks to have rediscovered here form somewhere. Perhaps it was underneath her chair. She ruthlessly dominates her service game to emphasise her hold in this deciding set.

  7. 1-0 - Serena battles back! She breaks Venus at the end of a mammoth, mammoth baseline rally that has the crowd on their feet.

  8. 3-6 - Venus wraps up the second set with another break! This time to love, as Serena seems to all-but lose interest. A dreadful second-set performace from the younger sister, with 18 unforced errors and just 17 points won to Venus's 31.

  9. 3-4 - Serena struggles to a hold, but she looks very frustrated with herself...a woeful double-fault annoys her further.

  10. 2-4 - This time Venus is able to consolidate her break with a hold...Serena has been poor in the second set.

  11. 2-3 - Does neither player want to win this match? So many errors! Serena loses her serve badly as she tries to regain control of the set having cancelled out the early break...she faces three break-points before finally springing to life...saving the second with an incredible pass...BUT THE BREAK COMES WHEN SHE FIRES A BACKHAND LONG!

  12. 2-2 - Serena immediately hits back...a wayward backhand (again) from Venus sets up three break-points...the first is saved by a fine, short-angled forehand cross-court...AND THE BREAK IS SEALED WITH A DOUBLE-FAULT.

  13. 1-2 - Serena has definitely lost her mojo...she slips on the way to losing her serve to 15...some concern, but she seems to be moving okay.

  14. 1-1 - Not a good return game from Serena, who rather lazily fires a couple of poor returns into the net before a forehand from the baseline also fails to test Venus.

  15. 1-0 - Serena holds to 15 to get herself up and running in the second set; Venus made too many unforced errors in the opener, she'll need to address that to get back into this match.

  16. 6-4 - In a game she needs to hold to save the set, Venus badly hooks a backhand wide to get off to a bad start...before sending a forehand long after being caught out of position by some awesome Serena defence...DOUBLE-FAULT MEANS THREE SET-POINTS...AND SHE TAKES THE THIRD WITH A FINE RETURN WINNER.

  17. 5-4 - Finally Venus comes to the party as she breaks to 15...she worked Serena around really well there, wrongfooting her sister on several occasions.

  18. 5-3 - Venus moves 30-0 up before a poor backhand slices out of play down the line...a good first serve returned into the net means 40-15...another fine serve out wide followed by a wonderful winner into the opposite corner seal the game.

  19. 5-2 - Nope, no spark there. A nice first serve out wide from Serena is hooked well wide bty Venus as the younger sister holds to love to move to within a game of the opening set.

  20. 4-2 - This time Serena is riddled with mistakes after a series of shots fired into the net hand Venus an easy hold that might just spark her game.

  21. 4-1 - Venus slaps one cracking forehand cross-court winner...but is otherwise awful as Serena earns a second break!

  22. 3-1 - The first chance of a break goes to Serena...Venus saves it with a fine backhand winner into the corner...but another forehand into the net hands her sister the break at the third attempt!

  23. 2-1 - Venus hooks a backhand well, well long from the baseline as Serena holds to 15 in no time at all; too many mistakes from both players to get this match going properly.

  24. 1-1 - Serena looks a little slow in starting on the Venus serve as her older sister holds comfortably. The crowd aren't really into this one yet.

  25. 1-0 - A swift opening hold from Serena as she reminds her sister of her fine first serve.

  26. 0-0 - Okay! The warm-ups are complete - off we go!

  27. - - Hi there; welcome to our coverage of this potentially-epic Williams v Williams clash.
