  1. - - Thanks for joining us in this match, next up on the Suzanne Lenglen court is Andy Murray, taking on Janko Tipsarevic, and you can follow that with us, of course!

  2. - - The world number one will next face the winner of fellow Spaniard David Ferrer and Sweden's Robin Soderling in the fourth round. To see the full men's draw at Roland Garros, click here

  3. 6-1 - Rafael Nadal clinches victory with a savage forehand down the line, holding his serve to 30 and defeating Lleyton Hewitt in straight sets!

  4. 5-1 - Nadal shows patience in staying in every rally with Hewitt, and he gets his reward, forcing the Australian into erring on a forehand to leave him facing two break points. The Spaniard over-hits the first, but takes the second.

  5. 4-1 - In stark contrast to Hewitt's ordeals on serve, Nadal positively races through his, taking it to love and sitting back down on his chair as if he doesn't know what the fuss is about!

  6. 3-1 - Finally Hewitt establishes himself in the second set, the Australian still forced to fight his way through a long deuce exchange to get on the board. Nadal is suffocating him out there!

  7. 3-0 - Nadal looks utterly imperious as he swaggers through his next service game, closing it out to love and walking briskly over to his chair as he anxiously seeks victory.

  8. - - If you would like to follow the other games which are in progress and see all the scores and results at Roland Garros, click here

  9. 2-0 - An epic service game from Hewitt goes to an extended deuce before the Australian finally loses his composure and is drawn into a slice outwide by Nadal, who breaks at the first opportunity in this second set.

  10. 1-0 - Nadal wins the opening game of the second set, and boasts a first-serve percentage of 80, as he races through another service hold, with Hewitt mustering just a single point from it.

  11. 6-3 - Nadal seals the second set! Hewitt looks across in dismay as the Spaniard flings himself out to his backhand side and flashes a winner past the Australian's outstretched racquet. There looks to be no stopping Nadal now!

  12. 5-3 - Nadal holds comfortably, with Hewitt staying in each rally with real perseverance, but the Spaniard was patient and made killer blows when required to consolidate his latest break and move to within a game of the second set.

  13. - - To see a photo of Nadal as he played a fine volley in the previous game at 0-15, click here

  14. 4-3 - Nadal breaks back once again! Two stunning backhand winners down the line from outwide give the world number one the advantage after Hewitt had fought valiantly to hold his serve and sustain the pressure.

  15. 3-3 - Despite Hewitt looking more threatening on his serve, Nadal again shows the Australian that he will not let him break twice: three sliced serves outwide are followed by thunderous forehands by the Spaniard.

  16. 2-3 - Hewitt races to 40-0 with two superb backhand winners, and wins the game to 15, with a delightful volley at the net, capping a varied combination of points.

  17. 2-2 - Hewitt breaks back! The Australian forces a break point with a huge forehand winner down the line, which Nadal does not even attempt to retrieve. A second break point comes about after the Spaniard plays a tame forehand into the net, and Hewitt hits back!

  18. 2-1 - Hewitt holds serve to 15 and looks far more confident in doing so, the Australian following up on his serves with far more conviction, taking control of each rally.

  19. - - Nadal has won 70 per cent of points on his first serve, while Hewitt has taken just 25 per cent, which tells its own story!

  20. 2-0 - Nadal consolidates his break with a convincing service hold, slicing the ball outwide to Hewitt's backhand repeatedly, and crashing forehands cross court.

  21. 1-0 - Nadal breaks Hewitt's serve in the first game of the second set to re-establish his dominance in the match so far. The Spaniard dictated all but one of the points, with Hewitt unable to sufficiently test his opponent on serve.

  24. 6-1 - Nadal clinches the first set with consummate ease! Hewitt is furious with himself as he squanders a break point on Nadal's serve by firing a forehand long, and the world number one punishes him, taking the first set 6-1.

  25. 5-1 - Hewitt is left bewildered as Nadal's defence seems to be impregnable. The Spaniard breaks once more, capitalising on the second break point with a powerful forehand down the line to further stretch his lead.

  26. 4-1 - Hewitt continues to struggle in finding any rhythm returning Nadal's serve, with the Spaniard proving adept at mixing up his delivery to good effect.

  27. 3-1 - Hewitt holds serve to love to replicate Nadal's feat in the previous game, the Australian assisted by a fortunate net cord to win the final point and get himself on the board.

  28. 3-0 - Nadal holds his serve to love, and this is one-way traffic at the start of the first set, with Hewitt struggling to get a foothold at all. Nadal positively jogs up to the other end, while Hewitt is much more laboured.

  29. 2-0 - Nadal breaks, and it did not take the Spaniard long to seize control of this match! Hewitt played one loose forehand on break point, and Nadal forced him to find the net off his backhand side.

  32. 0-0 - Nadal has won the toss and elected to serve first, and the Philippe Chatrier court is packed to the rafters!
