  1. - - There is no better way to boost British hopes for a first men's Wimbledon winner since Fred Perry than a win here - let's see if Murray can carry this form to SW19 a week tomorrow.

  2. - - Should you need reminding, that is the first British victory at Queen's in 71 years - since Bunny Austin's win here in 1938 - and he did it all without dropping a set!

  3. 6-4 - Murray fires one ace, then another. He ghosts up to the net to serve and volley and set up three match points! Blake returns into the net and Andy Murray wins the Queen's CLub title!

  4. 5-4 - Blake isn't going down easily though, and he holds his serve in efficient style.

  5. 5-3 - Murray wrongfoots Blake with a forehand winner to hold and move within one game of the title!

  6. 4-3 - The umpire rules a Blake first serve out - a cheeky cheer goes up from the crowd as Blake's challenge is proved correct! The umpire takes it in good spirits. Another cheer as Blake flies at full stretch but can't reach a Murray winner. The American can't volley Murray back over the net and Murray has a break point. Blake hits the net once more and Murray gets the crucial break!

  7. 3-3 - Blake is looking almost disinterested at the moment, but a Murray double fault spurs him into action, and a cracking forehand from deep right across the court brings up deuce on the scoreboard - first one of the match? Not sure. Anyway, Murray snuffs out that little revival by outlasting Blake in the rally to take the game.

  8. 2-3 - Blake hooks one shot wide and then finds the net to send Murray 0-30 up - he's really on the slide at the moment. Murray does him a favour by slicing into the net and then overhitting a return to draw him level. Another wild shot from Murray and a return into the net give Blake the game. Murray almost punches his racquet in frustration, then remembers the bleeding knuckles from yesterday and thinks better of it!

  9. 2-2 - Blake hammers a winner at the net to kick off Murray's service game, before the Scot levels. The American's luck really isn't in today, as his backhand shot clips the top of the net and flies wide. At 40-30, Blake hits the net and Murray holds.

  10. 1-2 - Murray hoists a return of serve into the crowd to go 30-0 down, and doesn't get the ball over the net for the rest of the game.

  11. 1-1 - Blake lets out an anguished "Oh, come on!" as he overhits a backhand down the line. His game goes from bad to worse when a perfectly good backhand return winner is cancelled out because hawkeye wasn't working! Nothing to argue about the Murray backhand that wins him the game though.

  12. 0-1 - Blake sends Murray on a wild goose chase to level at 30-30. Murray can then only return into the net and hit long to get Blake off to a good start in the second set.

  13. 7-5 - Murray opens with an ace - Blake challenges, more in hope than expectation, but it's good. Murray tries his slice drop shot trick again - it's called out before Blake hits a passing winner, but Murray's challenge is successful! Blake mutters a few words of discontent, and draws a few boos from the crowd! The American gets his justice on the next point for 30-15. Blake then hits the net and Murray takes the first set!

  14. 6-5 - Blake drills home a forehand winner to save defending three break points, but a wayward shot gives Murray the break at a kay time. The British number one will now serve to take the first set.

  15. 5-5 - The two men trade blows from the baseline and Murray blinks first, hitting long. He follows that up with his first double fault, but atones with an ace for 30-30. The Scot runs in to the net ansd slices a devilish drop shot that spins out of Blake's reach to hold - great shot!

  16. 4-5 - Murray is sent from pillar to post by Blake and he tries a tough lob on the run that sails over his opponent but wide of the court. Blake picks the perfect moment to approach the net and volley to hold.

  17. 4-4 - Murray's focus shows the first sign of wavering perhaps, hitting a backhand too loosely to send Blake 15-30 up. The American is really going for every one of Murray's second serves, but the Scot survives a wayward backhand passing shot before aceing to seal the game.

  18. 3-4 - Aside from the breaks - one which Murray fought so hard to get and then gave away so easily - no quarter is being given on serve by either man. Blake delivers a lovely drop volley at the net for yet another hold to love.

  19. 3-3 - Murray opens service with an ace, then leaps high at the net to tap across a winner. Blake finds the net twice and Murray holds to love.

  20. 2-3 - Blake knocks a deft drop shot over the net and smashes home an ace before Murray doesn't catch a break off the net for another love service game.

  21. 2-2 - Murray overhits an elementary forehand from the baseline and Blake has two break points! The world number 16 hits one into the net, and puts his hand on his hip in befuddlement, but then wins the longest rally of the match thus far by drilling a forehand down the line off Murray's second serve. We're back on terms now.

  22. 2-1 - Blake takes a risk by sticking close to the net but it pays off as he manages to block a Murray winner. He then settles the first rally of the match with a decisive forehand. Murray slices a return and Blake takes the bait, overhitting a shot, and then a two-handed backhand winner down the line gives the Scot a break point. Blake once more hits long and Murray gets the early break!

  23. 1-1 - Murray looks just as formidable on his serve, and doesn't give his American opponent a sniff en route to his own love service game.

  24. 0-1 - Blake holds to love via a smash, a serve-volley, a fine forehand and Murray hitting the net.

  25. - - James Blake will open serve -

  26. - - Eurosport commentator and tennis expert Simon Reed gave his verdict on Murray earlier in the week - Reed: Murray will take some stopping

  27. - - One advantage Blake has over his British counterpart is that he has been here before. In 2006 he also beat Roddick in the semis - fair and square on that ocassion - but fell to Lleyton Hewitt in the final.

  28. - - The two players walk out on court to a reception as warm as the weather from the 8,000 spectators at Queen's. Murray is the first Brit to reach the final since Tim Henman in 2002 - Can the world number three go one better?

  29. - - "It's all a hype thing. If you get caught up in it, then it becomes an issue," - Murray is doing a good job of keeping his feet on the ground. Murray keeping cool despite hype

  30. - - Blake, seeded sixth here, went through yesterday after Andy Roddick's hopes of a fifth Queen's title ended painfully when he limped out midway through the first set of the all-American semi-final. Blake in final as Roddick hit by injury

  31. - - Murray reached today's final after hustling past Spain's Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-2 6-4 in the semi-finals of the Queen's Club tournament. Murray reaches Queen's final

  32. - - You can follow text commentary of the final on Centre Court today, but remember you can also watch all the action LIVE on British Eurosport (Sky 410 / Virgin Media 521) which is also available on your PC via the Eurosport Player. Click here to subscribe

  33. - - Not since Henry 'Bunny' Austin won the title in 1938 has a British player finished the week on top at Queen's Club. Murray has been in imperious form all week, but Blake represents by far his toughest test and could well break British hearts on this sunny afternoon.

  34. - - America's James Blake stands between British number one Andy Murray and his first grass court title as the two face off at Queen's Club.

  1. Little ronnyenglish, looking to befriend Matt as a fellow hammer, what a silly little girl. How dare you call me disloyal pal, i'm very very proud to be English and had Murray not stupidly worn the paraguay shirt i would have liked him to have got a result. I have many Scottish, Serbian, Dutch, African friends etc who would laugh, and spit in your cowardly face about these comments, let alone my English pals. It is you who have the 'disloyalty' problem by sitting with opposition supporters to your National team. You really couldn't make it up. Look you sad little plum I will gladly leave my address in the U.K and when I return we can continue this conversation?

  2. Hello Matt I'm surprised that like me you are a West Ham supporter, I lived in Telham Rd E6 for over twenty years my kids are fourth generation Irons fans. There used to be a pub on the corner called the Drum & Monkey later renamed the Perseverance, I often wonder if it's still there. I usually found the Eastenders to be more tolerant, friendlier and warmer than you come across on line, you seem very angry. I'm always English first, British second and European third. I can't stand disloyalty or people like malcbridger, who seems to have a grudge against his country of birth. Born in 1946 I hope this does not annoy anyone too much as I'm to old to fight and prefer to save my energy for more worthwhile pastimes.

What do I do for a living??? I own and run a pretty successful import/export company! Thank you very much for asking! And what do you do??? Oh yeah that's right, you're a LORRY DRIVER!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! hope you spend your £5.90 an hour wisely!

And hahahahahaha if your ONLY argument is fuc king BRAVEHEART, I'll say no more! You are a pathetic, racist muppet!

As far as our tennis player is concerned, we don't have good one! AND NEITHER DO YOU! You idiot!

When was teh last time Scotland won anythng except the award for being the worst sporting nation on earth with the most racist residents???

  5. to ronsenglish, yes rangers fans caused havoc here in manchester, i saw it my own eyes. their flying there union jack, pledging alligience to their queen...protestant scots..not catholic scots.......then they ripped manchester apart( how disgusting is that)......gave scotland a very bad name...but not all scots like that.....take d celtic fans...noisy but in a whole well behaved........am a scot here in manchester,my 4kids all born here...do i hate them cause there english born.....dont think so...i love them

  8. Ronsenglish, I agree we are all human! But unfortunately you are wrong! It is no longer a small minority! As far as sport is concerned, it is a very large majority! Need I remind you of the ManU/Rangers game when the Scots came down and started a disgusting display of holliganism???

I am not about opposing any other sporting team etc... I support West Ham and I have some frinds on here that Support Man U and Liverpool etc.. and I have TWO Scottish people I speak to! But most of the Scottish people on here, as soon as you try to speak to them, they hurl abuse and start about how Scotland is superior to England etc...! I mean, come on! We ALL know that's not true!

So I have to disagree with you! The Scots are FAR more racist than the English and as far as I'm concerned those racist ones (and it seems to be MOST Scottish people) have ruined the Scottish name!

So, I will always support England over Scotland! Hence, I couldn't give a monkey's about Murray!

From Matt, on Sun 14 Jun 4:51PM
  9. Hello malcbridger reading between the lines you couldn't cut the mustard in England and now find you need to deride your homeland, good luck in Serbia good riddance to you.

From Matt, on Sun 14 Jun 4:44PM
  11. Matt A very small minority of Scots are anti English, and a very small minority of English are anti Scots, but unfortunately these people have the loudest voices and try to force feed us with their views. I used to go to the home international matches at Wembley between England and Scotland with a Scots friend stand in the Scots sector and get treated with respect, drank their whiskey and had a great time. We're all people.

  12. Let the sweaties have their day, I mean James Blake, not exactly a mind blowing result is it?!
Mickey mouse tournament without the 2 top seeds. Just like the Scottish football, 2 championship quality teams battling it out year after boring year (yawn!). As an Englishman, I actually prefer murray to the effeminate, silver spoon fed henman, but still just another little rich boy. After wearing the paraguay shirt when England played them in the world cup, murray will never be viewed as British by many, but as a Scot. Even worse is the hypocritical English who call him British if he is being successful, pathetic really.

  14. Ronsenglish, I can see where Mike S is coming from! When England played (and beat Argentina) last time the Scottish were on TV is Scotland AND London wearing their Argentina shirts, which most of them bought for the occasion! They hate the English, so why the hell should we cheer their distinctly avearge tennis player on???

From Matt, on Sun 14 Jun 4:27PM
  15. seems the english minority are racist againts the scots, 1745 was british army who fought the rebellion, against prince charlie and his minority of farmers.so it was never an english army at colleden,it was british troops who defeated the uprising of the pretender to the throne.(and he couldent even speak english) his native tongue was french.and guy called red cambell was the arcitec of defeating his own peoples...we must as a uk nation unite and forget d past. and support our sports people.ie..english,scottish,welsh,irish..........my father fought d second world war..his friends were from....london,manchester,birmingham, swansea, cardiff, belfast, dublin. ..if he read the comments here , he would b horriefied...am scot. and i live in manchester england, all my friends are english, they 2 upset d racist comments from this site ...just live in peace ok
