4-6 -
Roger Federer beats Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in straight sets to advance into the third round! The world number two holds serve to 15 with a crunching forehand down the line to force the error, and he is through with consummate ease!
- - While Roger Federer cruises serenely towards victory on Centre Court, some fans are still bemoaning the absence of a certain Spaniard
4-5 - To the Spaniard's credit, he holds serve to leave Federer the opportunity to hold for the match, and secure his place in the third round.
3-5 - Federer is predictably unerring as he races through yet another service game as though he is not even thinking about it. The Spaniard will now be forced to hold to make Federer serve out for the match.
3-4 - A lavish forehand pass cross court from Federer with Garcia-Lopez stranded mid-court takes the game to deuce, with the Swiss looking to end the match with haste. Garcia-Lopez responds with a sliced ace outwide, but cancels it out with a double fault on advantage. A stunning backhand pass from the Spaniard wins him the game, to not give Federer a too easy ride.
2-4 - Garcia-Lopez is posing no threat at all to the Federer serve, and the Swiss holds to love with a very clinical, ruthless selection of half volleys and forehands to the Spaniard's weaker backhand side. Federer is in cruise control.
2-3 - More for pride than anything else, Garcia-Lopez holds his serve with a giant grin, striding back to his chair, despite remaining a break behind his opponent. Federer simply has to close the match out with three more service holds.
1-3 - A sumptuous forehand winner down the line from Garcia-Lopez cannot prevent Federer from holding to 15 and consolidating his latest break of serve. The Swiss is in complete control, and is merely sustaining this level, which is more than enough for his opponent.
1-2 -
Federer breaks Garcia-Lopez with ruthless intensity, pouncing on two particularly tepid backhands from the Spaniard. The Swiss surely has the lead he needs to close out this match comfortably now. To take a look at Federer stretching to return a serve from his opponent, click here
1-1 - Federer levels at 1-1 with a typically clinical service hold, taking control of every point with real efficiency and conviction. Garcia-Lopez, understandably, appears content to simply try to hold his serve and remain on parity.
1-0 - As he has done in the previous two sets, Garcia-Lopez begins with a convincing service hold, but can he remain on terms for longer than a few games in this third? Federer hardly troubled the Spaniard there, but can up his intensity at any point.
2-6 -
An overrule from the umpire gives Federer an ace down the T to close out the second set 6-2. Garcia-Lopez battled hard to push his opponent hard in the game, but Federer was simply too classy, too efficient, and too composed. The Swiss will now be determined to finish this match in straight sets.
2-5 -
A thunderous forehand smash from Garcia-Lopez saves the first of two break points after Federer had forced the advantage with two passes. The Swiss does manage to break once more, forcing the Spaniard to plant a backhand into the net, and moves to within a game of the second set.
2-4 - Federer moves to 40-15 with a crunching forehand pass cross court, before holding serve to 30 after lashing a forehand down the line. Garcia-Lopez did very well to make the game so competitive, with Federer sustaining a good intensity throughout.
2-3 - As if racing to beat the time Federer set in the previous game for holding serve, Garcia-Lopez also breezes through his game to love at an exceptionally brisk pace. Two big first serves finish the game in convincing fashion.

1-3 - Federer storms through his service game to love in lightning quick time, hardly giving his opponent a second to register what is going on! The Swiss is looking utterly dominant, and crashes a forehand winner to close out the game, and consolidate his second-set break.
1-2 -
Garcia-Lopez is finding a good rhythm on his first serve, and races to 40-15, but an aberration on his second serve brings Federer back into it after a double fault. A tame forehand into the net after an extended rally gives Federer a break point, from which he thunders a backhand winner cross court - a magnificent shot!
1-1 - Federer is taken to deuce by Garcia-Lopez, who produces two magnificent backhand passes down the line, but the world number two recovers well, closing out the game with a powerful forehand cross court.
1-0 - Garcia-Lopez looks pretty comfortable in his opening service game of the second set, with Federer content to attempt thunderous winners on virtually every point. The Spaniard holds to 15, but the Swiss has many further gears he can go into.

2-6 -
The Spaniard jolts his opponent into action, racing to 0-30, but his counter is quashed by Federer, who suddenly gets a grip and closes out the game and the set in devastating fashion. A cross court winnner with his forehand gives the world number two complete dominance in this second-round match.
2-5 - Garcia-Lopez takes his service game to love, finishing with a flashing backhand cross court to pass Federer, who was advancing into the net. The Spaniard ended with a real flourish, but you got the feeling that Federer was easing off quite considerably before he has the opportunity to serve out for the opening set.
1-5 - Garcia-Lopez has to take risks to get anywhere on his opponent's serve, and lashes two forehands long, before Federer closes the game out with real efficiency to edge closer to the first set.
1-4 -
Federer hardly gives Garcia-Lopez any room to breath, stifling the Spaniard's rhythm with an array of forehands out to his weaker backhand side, and the Swiss breaks again after deuce. The world number two is treating his opponent with disdain.
1-3 - Federer consolidates his break of serve with a service game so brisk that you would miss it blinking! The Swiss finds three big first serves and a powerful forehand down the line, as Garcia-Lopez is not afforded a glimmer of an opportunity to hit back.
1-2 -
Federer breaks serve on Garcia-Lopez's second game, pouncing on some loose shots from the Spaniard, stamping his authority on the opening set. The Swiss was ruthless in punishing two sloppy forehands from his opponent, and that is all that was required.
1-1 - Federer quickly takes a 30-0 lead on his serve, but Garcia-Lopez pegs it back to deuce, winning an 18-shot rally with a crisp forehand down the line. The Swiss flashes a forehand cross court to win the game, and level at 1-1, despite a slightly slow start.
1-0 - The Spaniard begins with a slightly nervy double fault, but recovers well with two good first serves and forehand follow-ups, before a huge smash mid-court gives him a cushion at 40-15. Garcia-Lopez holds in his opening service game with Federer finding the net with a jolted forehand.
0-0 -
Garcia-Lopez wins the toss and elects to serve first in this opening set, hoping to settle himself down with an early hold.
- -
Both players are pretty matched physically, with the 27-year-old Federer 6'1" and 85kg, while Garcia Lopez is 26-years-old, an inch taller and three kilograms lighter.
- -
Federer has beaten the world number 42 on the two previous occasions they have met, on a hard court at the Indian Wells Masters in 2008, and a year earlier on carpet in Basel.

De nuevo a la cima del ranking!!! GO FED!!!!!
For those saying that Murray is the favorite for Wimbledon title this year: has any player, other than Nadal, ever won a GS final against Roger Federer in the last 6 years? Has any player, other than Nadal (once), ever won a match on grass against RF in the last 6 years? Well, maybe Murray will beat RF in the final… you never know, anything can happen in sport, but there is no way a normal thinking human being can think that he is the favorite in front of Roger…
Come on Guillermo!
fed"its cool guy.....
DO you have a ticket, Nina?
Go Federer Go!!!! You are the best....
Roger is KING OF TENNIS!!!!!
