Live Comments

  1. 1-6 - Flipkens serves out the match to love, sealing the win with a drop shot winner, and there is now only one Brit left in the Wimbledon draw - men's or women's

  2. 1-5 - Another couple of forehands long from Baltacha hand Flipkens three match points during a tough game but the Brit saves them all with an ace, a backhand down the line and a backhand drop shot before going on to hold and force Flipkens to serve it out

  3. 0-5 - Things are going from bad to worse now for Baltacha as the size of the errors increases. A smash, albeit a tricky one, into the net on game point hands Flipkens another hold and Baltacha is staring down the barrel of a bagel second set

  4. 0-4 - Ouch! Baltacha's game is falling apart now as a forehand into the net hands Flipkens another break of serve. A set and 4-0 down now and really there's no way back from that

  5. 0-3 - Another cruisey service hold for the Belgian cements the break and she is well on her way to victory. Baltacha is a fighter but this is a big ask now. A set and a break

  6. 0-2 - Flipkens has all the answers right now as she breaks when Baltacha slaps a really bad forehand well wide of the sidelines. The Belgian is firmly in control now despite the crowd doing their best to lift Baltacha

  7. 0-1 - Flipkens holds to open the second set despite a double fault to open up with. Baltacha tooks a toilet break at the end of that first set in a bid to compose herself

  8. 5-7 - Flipkens takes the opening set! Stepping inside the baseline to batter a forehand return of serve down the line earns Flipkens two set points and although Baltacha saves the first with a huge first serve, the Belgian gets it at the second attempt when Baltacha hits into the net

  9. 5-6 - The first "come on" from Baltacha really gets the crowd involved but a potentially dodgy call on the baseline goes against Baltacha and Flipkens goes on to hold. The Brit will have to serve to stay in the set once again

  10. 5-5 - Better again from Baltacha as she holds to 30 to stay in this first set - some great length ground-strokes followed by a dodgy looking forehand volley that nonetheless goes in. The crowd is getting back into this match again now

  11. 4-5 - Flipkens holds once again to leave her just one game from the set. Baltacha looks tense as she slaps an attempted forehand down the line into the net to allow Flipkens to hold

  12. 4-4 - Much better from Baltacha as she works her way back into the match with a series of solid ground-strokes to hold and get things back on serve

  13. 3-4 - Flipkens holds to 15 to get in front once again and Baltacha really needs to just settle down and get back to the basics that were working so well for her at the top of this set

  14. 3-3 - A few errors creeping into Baltacha's game as Flipkens sets up two break points. The Brit saves the first with a blistering backhand down the line but a double fault from Baltacha and things are back on serve

  15. 3-2 - Flipkens holds to keep the deficit to just the one break. The Belgian is struggling on serve so far and has already slapped down three double faults

  16. 3-1 - A solid hold, including an ace, to cement the early break for Baltacha. Flipkens is not a stranger to success on grass, having been crowned the girls champion at SW19 back in 2003

  17. 2-1 - Baltacha is already really attacking the Flipkens forehand as it pays dividends as she breaks in just the third game when the Belgian slaps a backhand into the net on her second break point

  18. 1-1 - Baltacha looks up for the fight today as she holds to 15 with some very solid ground-strokes to get her side of the scoreboard ticking over

  19. 0-1 - A solid opening game from Flipkens as she includes a couple of aces on her way to a hold to 15

  20. 0-0 - The players are now ready to go and it will be Flipkens to serve first and get this clash underway

  21. 14:45 - Baltacha is more than capable of coming through this match then, but Flipkens is also in great form at Wimbledon taking out 30th seed Agnes Szavay in the first round

  22. 14:44 - These two have met each other twice before with Baltacha winning both of those clashes - although they were both on the hard courts

  23. 14:40 - Hello and welcome to this second round clash between Britain's Elena Baltacha and Kristen Flipkens of Belgium
