  1. 0-1 - Ivanovic holds to take the first game of the second set but she is sobbing now as she walks back to the chair for the change of ends. And sure enough she has pulled out handing Venus Williams a place in the quarter-finals

  2. 40-Ad - Ivanovic returns after recieving treatment to her left thigh and she wins the first point back on the court - but she is in floods of tears now and it doesn't look like this match will go on for much longer

  3. 40-40 - Things are going from bad to worse for Ana Ivanovic. The Serb is forced to save two break points in the opening game of the set - which to be fair she does. The second break point is saved with an ace out-wide but Ivanovic grimaces as she hits it and a first serve fault on the next point is clearly too much and she calls for the trainer immediately. It looks like a left leg problem and it must be fairly bad if she is to stop mid-game and mid-point even

  4. 6-1 - Sure enough Venus serves out the first set at the first attempt with a forehand winner! Venus really is staking her claim to this title - it's one thing to beat someone like Carla Suarez Navarro 6-0 6-4 but to be beating Ana Ivanovic by this scoreline when the Serb is playing some of her best tennis in a long time, is another matter entirely

  5. 5-1 - IVANOVIC HOLDS! Good work from the Serb as she holds to avoid the indignity of a bagel first set. But Williams has four chances to serve out the set and the way she's been playing - it won't take anything like that long

  6. 5-0 - Venus holds to 30 to cement the double break and this'll be the point where Ivanovic turns her thoughts to the second set. The scoreline really is an unfair reflection on Ivanovic just now as she is actually playing decent tennis, including a great forehand volley winner in this game. But Venus is simply hitting the ball harder and she is looking at a bagel first set, unless Ivanovic can do something after the change of ends

  7. 4-0 - Venus has too much power for Ivanovic at the moment, racing out to three break points. The Serb does manage to save the first two with a forehand winner and a smash respectively but Venus batters a forehand on the third and she has the double break in this opening set

  8. 3-0 - Venus fires down her first ace of the match on her way to an easier hold, which also has the bonus of cementing the early break

  9. 2-0 - After pushing Williams all the way in the opening game, Ivanovic has failed to really fire on all cylinders on her serve and she is broken with Venus racing up to a drop shot to batter a forehand across court for the passing shot

  10. 1-0 - An epic first game that lasts six minutes as Venus is forced to save three break points before holding with a ferocious forehand winner

  11. 0-0 - Righto, the players are ready to get the clash underway and it will be Venus to serve first

  12. 13:08 - These two have met each other six times before with Venus leading the head-to-heads 5-1. Ivanovic won their last meeting, at the 2008 Australian Open, but Venus spanked the Serb in their only meeting on grass - the 2007 Wimbledon semi-finals

  13. 13:07 - Hello and welcome to this fourth round clash between two-times defending champion Venus Williams and Serbian 13th seed Ana Ivanovic

  7. All of the Serbian players pull out of matches that they can't win with injuries because they do not know how to lose without insulting their opponents. She didn't even look injured until she started getting her @#$% beat. Very classless. The same thing happened with Roddick vs Djokovic last year. Jankovic does the same thing. Either its a ridiculous coincidence that all the Serbian players happen to get injured or sick more often than all of the other players, or I'm right about them. I'm gonna go with the latter. It's a shame because the Serbian players of this era are very good players, I just hope that they grow up and show some class.

pathetic the williams sisters only came to the championships because of the top seeds are out .they both was to retire a few years ago and soon as players like sharapova and hingus were injured or retired there brute man like strength makes them win it all shouldnt be allowed.

  13. badongskie don't you have any shame? all your horrible predictions are so wide off the mark and yet you continue to have the cheek to come to a tennis forum and spew utter brainless tosh. your other certainty today daniella is also being thrashed in the other match. why don't you just go away and cover yourself up in a blanket. this is not a dumb world for retards like you.

  14. Why is it that Serbian players are the only ones who get sick in the court more often? There must be a severe case of hypochondria in Serbia coz thats not normal. Anna Ivanovic was fine before the match. But when she realised she didn't stand a chance against Venus, she feigned illness. Thats a disgrace!
