  5. 4-4 - Roddick is approaching 50 aces for the match as he fires down his 47th on the way to another comfortable service hold to level things up yet again. This match could just run and run and run at this rate!

  6. 4-3 - Roddick comes up with a scintilating backhand passing shot down the line to earn himself a small glimpse of a chance at 30-30 but Hewitt quickly slams the door shut with an ace before holding when Roddick hits a forehand into the net

  7. 3-3 - Roddick also posts a speedy service hold to stick with Hewitt even throwing in a spot of serve and volley just to mix things up a little

  8. 3-2 - Hewitt's serving a still proving to be pretty good as he races through another service hold with an ace to just about keep his nose in front in this decider

  9. 2-2 - Roddick saves a break point with one of the most outrageous pick-up shots you will ever see on a tennis court. How much he knew about it is debateable but Roddick put an inch-perfect inside out forehand onto the baseline before firing away the resulting volley for a winner and going on to hold serve

  10. 2-1 - Hewitt has to save another two break points before he can go on to hold when Roddick hits a forehand into the net. The American is really annoyed now and enters into a battle of words with the umpire at the change of ends. He let this sort of thing get to him in his French Open loss to Gael Monfils so he is prone to meltdowns this year

  11. 1-1 - Hewitt's opening service game in this set lasted 12 minutes. Roddick's on the other hand only lasted just over a minute as he fired down three aces and a backhand volley winner!

  12. 1-0 - Hewitt moves swiftly to 30-0, but is pegged back to 30-30 after two fierce returns from Roddick. Hewitt hammers a big first serve down the middle at deuce, and replicates the feat after the American responds. Four further deuces follow, as Hewitt mixes a fine backhand with a double fault, then an ace. The Australian finally closes out the game with a big forehand down the line, and establishes himself in the set.

  14. 6-4 - HEWITT TAKES THE FOURTH SET! A great forehand return of serve across court at an acute angle from out wide brings up a set point for Hewitt and the Australian grabs it when Roddick hits wide across court. We will go to a fifth!

  15. 5-4 - But Hewitt is determined to prove he can match Roddick on serve and batters down consecutive aces of his own to hold and move to within one game of leveling this match again. Roddick will have to serve to stay in the fourth set

  16. 4-4 - Hewitt takes the first two points off the Roddick serve before the American comes storming back with three unreturnable first serves. Hewitt offers up a four-letter swear word in response!

  17. 4-3 - Hewitt is hitting out from all over the court to compensate for his lack of movement and incredibly it's working as he holds once again to stay in front

  18. 3-3 - Roddick holds with ace to stop the run of games against him and to halt Hewitt's momentum in this fourth set

  19. 3-2 - Hewitt is running on pure adrenalin now, and crowd support, as he takes his third straight game, holding to 30 with a vicious inside out forehand across court that Roddick can only return into the net

  20. 2-2 - HEWITT BREAKS BACK! A phenomenal effort from the Australian as he breaks back much to the crowd's delight. They want this match to continue. Hewitt gets a little lucky with a couple of bounces to set up the break point but he takes full advantage of it when Roddick hits a forehand into the net

  21. 1-2 - Hewitt does well to hold with an ace from deuce as Roddick looks to press home his advantage. But Hewitt's first serve percentage tells a story after a dramatic drop off in this fourth set - 61 per cent in the first, second and third but just 38 per cent in this fourth set so far

  22. 0-2 - Roddick races through a service hold to consolidate the break with an ace and give Hewitt no time to recover from the aches and pains he is suffering now

  23. 0-1 - RODDICK BREAKS for the opening game of the fourth set - the Australian saved the first with a forehand winner down the line but he could do nothing about the second when he ran around a backhand and slapped a forehand into the net. Hewitt seemed to be holding his leg after the last couple of pointsif that game but no sign of the trainer being called just get. He did require treatment on that left leg during is win over Stepanek remember

  24. 6-7 - There is the third set to Roddick as Hewitt hits long and the American now is in pole position to book his place in the semi-finals alongside Andy Murray

  25. TB1-5 - Roddick plays a fantastic point concluding with a 107mph forehand to leave him leading 5-1 with the double mini-break at the change of ends

  26. 6-6 - It's tie-break time once again folks as Hewitt holds (shocker!) to level up yet again

  27. 5-6 - Roddick holds once again and at worst for him this set will go to another tie-break, which lets be honest, has been inevitable for a while now!

  28. 5-5 - Hewitt has to work hard to keep things level this time around as he holds with a forehand winner and a "come on"! to stay in this set

  29. 4-5 - Hewitt will have to serve to stay in the set after the change of ends as Roddick holds once again with an ace!

  30. 4-4 - There is nothing to separate these two players as Hewitt holds once again to level things up at 4-4. Roddick gets a small glimpse of a chance with a great approach shot at 15-30 but Hewitt comes up with a stunning forehand cross court passing shot to win the point before going on to hold

  31. 3-4 - Roddick holds once again with an ace, his 27th, down the centre of the court. This set is rapidly approaching crunch point

  32. 3-3 - Looking at the stats, Roddick could understandly feel agreived that Hewitt is level with him - the American has hit 44 winners to just 16 unforced errors, while Hewitt has only 25 winners and 17 unforced errors. Hewitt holds again to keep things level

  33. 2-3 - Roddick is still serving at 73 per cent first serve success rate which is impressive and he is winning 73 per cent of points behind his first serve. Oh, he holds again by the way!

  34. 2-2 - Hewitt races through another hold once again - the chances in this match are so few and far between, the outcome will depend entirely on who takes the opportunity when it is presented to them!

  35. 1-2 - Roddick holds once again just dropping the one point when Hewitt comes up with a great passing shot despite there being absolutely nothing wrong with the American's passing shot!

  36. 1-1 - Hewitt also gets the third set off to the perfect start, dropping just the one point when Roddick comes up with a backhand winner

  37. 0-1 - Roddick holds with ease, and an ace, to get the third set underway

  39. 7-6 - This time LLEYTON HEWITT DOES TAKES THE SECOND SET when Roddick hits a forehand approach shot just long. The match is level and this is really turning into the epic battle we expected!

  40. 11-10 - Hewitt comes up with a stunning service, which Roddick hits long to save the chance once again before setting up another chance of his own with a stunning cross court backhand winner

  41. 9-10 - Hewitt has the chance in his grasp when Roddick plays an ill-advised drop shot 21 strokes into a rally. Hewitt gets the easily but puts the forehand into the net and Roddick earns another set point with a ferocious cross court forehand winner

  42. TB9-8 - The chance goes begging though when Roddick hits a forehand just long and Hewitt will have another chance after a Roddick defensive forehand lands wide

  43. TB7-8 - Hewitt does brilliantly well with his return of serve but an attempted lob is not high enough and Roddick slams down the smash to save the point before another ace gives Roddick another set point

  44. TB7-6 - Hewitt has his chance at a set point after Roddick slaps a cross court forehand into the net after a rally of 8 shots

  45. TB6-6 - A poor blocked forehand return of serve from Roddick squanders the chance though and Hewitt is back on level terms once again with one serve remaining

  46. TB5-6 - Hewitt levels up with a couple of storming forehands - one down the line and then another inside out across court before Roddick brings up a set point with his 19th ace of the match

  47. TB2-4 - Roddick grabs the early mini-break with a blistering forehand that Hewitt can only return into the net and, although Hewitt hits back with an emphatic smash on the next point, Roddick maintains his lead into the change of ends with an ace down the centre of the court

  48. 6-6 - Sure enough it is tie-break time, folks. Roddick holds once again with another service winner after Hewitt made a blistering start to the game and took the first two points, much to the vociferous crowd's delight!

  49. 6-5 - A solid service game from Hewitt, which concludes with a service winner, ensures that he will get the chance to play the breaker at the very worst

  50. 5-5 - Roddick holds to love with an ace down the centre of the court to deny Hewitt an opportunity to break. This set could well be heading for a tie-break!

  51. 5-4 - Hewitt saves another two break points, one with an ace down the T, to deny Roddick the break that would leave him serving for a two sets to love lead. Instead Hewitt holds with a service winner that leaves Roddick serving to stay in the set

  52. 4-4 - We are right back on serve as Roddick seals a battling service game with another ace down the T - that's seven aces now for the American sixth seed

  53. 4-3 - RODDICK BREAKS BACK! Hewitt appears to be cruising on serve but Roddick plays a couple of great points to all of a sudden set up a break back opportunity when Hewitt hits a down the line forehand wide. The first goes begging and Hewitt even saves a second with a great forehand into the open court but Roddick gets the break back at the third attempt when Hewitt pushes a backhand down the line wide

  54. 4-2 - First though Roddick will have something to say about it as he recovers his composure on serve to remain just the one break down in this second set

  55. 4-1 - Hewitt's serve is going brilliantly well now as he races through yet another service game to consolidate the break. This is looking increasingly like a four set now at least

  56. 3-1 - HEWITT BREAKS! Great work from the Australian as he breaks by drawing Roddick up to the net. Hewitt sends a low backhand across the court that Roddick can do nothing with and the Australian is on hand to volley the result forehand across court for the winner

  57. 2-1 - Hewitt has little trouble on serve to stay ahead just dropping the one point when he hits a forehand into the net with Roddick fast approaching

  58. 1-1 - Roddick also races through a love service hold to get his side of the scoreboard ticking over in this second set

  59. 1-0 - Much better from Hewitt to open the second set as he holds to love with an ace down the T

  60. - - So a great opening set from Roddick in which he out-classed Hewitt in all aspects - more aces, less double faults, more winners, less unforced errors etc etc. Hewitt did this against Stepanek, failed to really get going in the opening sets, and managed to come through that. Although you've got to assume he will get less chances against Roddick than Stepanek

  61. 3-6 - An ace of 144mph from Roddick brings up a first set point and that all he needs as Hewitt hits a forehand into the net after doing well to get the return of serve back

  62. 3-5 - Hewitt fires down his first ace of the match to hold serve once again and force Roddick to serve out the first set - shouldn't be too much trouble though for the American

  63. 2-5 - Roddick whips a great backhand passing shot down the line that, although he gets his racquet to it, Hewitt cannot get back over the net and Roddick is just one game away from a speedy first set

  64. 2-4 - Hewitt is definately finding his rhythm on serve now and has dropped just the one point in his two service holds after a sub-standard opening game

  65. 1-4 - Roddick is still to drop a point behind his first serve as he races through another service hold to maintain his one break lead. Fair to say that this match will be played at a quick tempo, even if it is to go to five sets!

  66. 1-3 - Much better from Hewitt as he holds to finally get off the mark. The first serve in particular was serving considerably better in that game for Hewitt and the Aussie supporters in the crowd get the chants going in between the games now their man has go off the mark

  67. 0-3 - Roddick races through another service game with his third ace of the match already after Hewitt had hit a forehand down the line long

  68. 0-2 - RODDICK BREAKS! A shocking start from Hewitt as he gifts Roddick to chances at the break. The American slaps a forehand long on the first but a double fault from Hewitt quickly gives Roddick the second chance before a second double fault hands the sixth seed the break

  69. 0-1 - Roddick, as exected races through his opening service hold to love - that'll happen a lot today as usual! Actually all joking aside Roddick has been serving really well on the grass this year

  70. 0-0 - Righto, the players are ready to go and it will Roddick to get the clash underway and serve first

  71. 16:01 - The weather is absolutely stunning once again at Wimbledon today. There are a few white fluffy clouds about but for the most part there's a blue sky with temperatures set to rising as high at 31 degrees throughout the afternoon

  72. - - The main factor though will be how Hewitt washes up after his five-set epic against Radek Stepanek on Monday, in which he was forced to battle back from two sets to love down and required treatment on his left leg

  73. - - The last time these two met was just over two weeks ago at Queen's in the third round when Roddick triumphed in two tie-break sets. But they have a surprisingly even head-to-head record with Hewitt just edging it 6-5

  74. - - This match really promises to be a cracker with Roddick and Hewitt both playing some of their best tennis in recent times during the grass-court season

They did the same during the­ French Open (showing old game instead of Federer - del­ Potro semifinal). The ATP and ITF should strip NBC of­ their broadcasting rights.
