  1. - - The big question now, is who will join Federer in the final? You can follow the second semi-final between Britain's Andy Murray and Andy Roddick by clicking here

  2. 3-6 - Game, set, match Federer! The Swiss is into his seventh successive Wimbledon final with a straight-sets victory over Tommy Haas, who played very well himself. Federer was imperious, and finishes with an emphatic smash to close out the match.

  3. 3-5 - Federer breaks serve! Haas gets a very unfortunate line call which disrupts his rhythm at 15-15, and the German appears pretty rattled, firing a forehand into the net to give Federer two break points. A good serve saves the first, and the Swiss hits long to squander the second. A third break point is rescued with a serve down the T, and a fourth in an almost identical fashion, but a fifth is put into the net by the German.

  4. 3-4 - Federer has now won 88 per cent of his first serves in this match, and 81 on his second - a quite staggering statistic. The Swiss holds again convincingly, and once again the pressure falls on Haas to respond.

  5. 3-3 - Haas storms to 40-0 with a stunning half-volley pick up to give him a convincing advantage, and the German holds to 15 to remain on terms with Federer in this third set.

  6. 2-3 - Federer races to 40-0, but a bizarre miss from the Swiss with Haas waving his arms frantically to put his opponent off makes the game closer than it should have been. Federer holds to 30, and now leads 3-2, but he saw the funny side of Haas's gamesmanship.

  7. 2-2 - Haas completes another commendable service hold with a sliced serve out to Federer's backhand forcing the error, after he had once again been pushed out to 40-30.

  8. 1-2 - A typically sturdy service hold from Federer gives him the lead once more in this third set, and the second set looks utterly commanding, with Haas doing very little wrong.

  9. 1-1 - Haas matches his opponent's dominance in holding to love, and the German regains his rhythm, but he will still be rueing how he lost his composure at the crucial moment in the previous set.

  10. 0-1 - Federer wins his opening service game of the third set in dismissive fashion, holding to love. The German simply laughs when looking up at his box, and there was nothing he could have done there.

  11. 5-7 - Federer clinches the second set! Haas plays a stunning backhand winner down the line to take the game to 15-15, but an over-sliced forehand, followed by an overhit pass give Federer a second set point. The Swiss sends a forehand into the net after stretching to reach a fierce forehand from Haas. Another sublime winner from Federer gives him a third set point, and this time Haas hits long.

  12. 5-6 - A flashing backhand pass from Federer and a crisp volley give him 30-0, and despite an overly-casual drop shot, the Swiss holds to 15. Can Haas keep his nerve to force a second tie break now?

  13. 5-5 - Haas moves swiftly to 30-15 with two big first serves, but the German throws in a double fault to give Federer a sniff of an opportunity. A fine backhand pass forces Haas to plant a backhand into the net, but the German saves the break point with a huge first serve. Haas holds his nerve and levels once more, showing great character on serve.

  14. 4-5 - Federer places a forehand wide in the opening point of the game, but the Swiss recovers with consummate ease, firing two backhands down the line and holding to 15.

  15. 4-4 - Haas looks comfortable at 30-15, but attempts an audacious flick behind the legs which goes straight into the net: that was sloppy from the German. The 24th seed responds with a good first serve down the centre of the court to level at 4-4.

  16. 3-4 - Haas is furious with himself after he plants a forehand into the net, and Federer moves briskly to 40-15 with a thunderous first serve outwide. The Swiss wins the game with ease to leave 4-3, with nothing in this second set.

  17. 3-3 - Federer misses a very tricky forehand and, such are the expectations on him, it prompts a groan from the crowd. Haas moves to 40-30 with a clinical serve and volley, and the German levels at 3-3.

  18. 2-3 - Federer saunters to 40-0 without any trouble at all, and closes the game out with a fierce ace down the T - his fourth of the match. The Swiss is looking imperious.

  19. 2-2 - Haas plays a delightful half-volley at the net to close out his second service hold of the set after Federer had pushed him to 40-30. The German is hanging on well.

  20. 1-2 - Federer seems even more confident and dismissive when serving first, and he regains his lead with another convincing service hold. The Swiss will take a lot of stopping in this mood.

  21. 1-1 - Haas races to 40-0 with ease, finding a good rhythm and not erring from it. The German goes wide with an attempted forehand pass cross court, but he closes out the game with a crisp backhand volley.

  22. - - To view a picture of Haas striving to reach a delicate drop shot from Federer in the tie break, click here

  23. 0-1 - Federer begins the second set with a comfortable service hold to love, finding three first deliveries and testing Haas with every shot. The German must raise his level now.

  24. 6-7 - The first set is taken by Federer! A sliced forehand from Haas gives Federer three set points, and a backhand into the net allows the Swiss to take the opening set on the tie-break.

  25. TB3-5 - Haas somehow reaches a forehand with a big lunge, whipping the ball down the line, but the Swiss responds with a stunning backhand return to lead 5-3.

  26. TB2-3 - The first mini-break is won by Federer, with Haas going long with a rash forehand, and the Swiss takes the long rally to move 3-2 up with serve.

  27. TB1-2 - The first three points of the tie-break go with serve as Federer finds the line on two occasions after Haas had found a big delivery to open proceedings.

  28. 6-6 - We are into a first set tie-break in this semi-final! Federer holds to love with consummate ease, and Haas is frustrated that he was not able to apply more pressure on his opponent's serve.

  29. 6-5 - A huge smash from Haas after scampering backwards gives him 30-15, but a poor drop shot is seized upon by Federer who piles the pressure on his opponent. Haas holds with impressive composure, and puts the onus back on Federer to force a tie break.

  30. 5-5 - Federer, with the onus on him to hold serve in order to stay in the opening set, whips a stunning forehand pass to move to 30-15. A precise ace down the centre of the court levels the first set at 5-5.

  31. 5-4 - A 116mph second serve from Haas gives him the early ascendency in the game, and a huge double fault reflects the aggression of his approach. Federer pegs him back to 40-30 with a solid backhand, but a good first serve enables the German to hold once more. This first set is very finely poised.

  32. 4-4 - A sublime backhand lob from Federer, with his feet behind the baseline gives him 15-0, and the Swiss comfortably rattles through the game to level at 4-4.

  33. 4-3 - Haas moves serenely to 40-0, with a second call for Hawkeye from Federer unable to prevent his steady progress. The German looks very composed as he closes out the game with a big first serve, and he holds to love at 4-3.

  34. 3-3 - Federer commits his first double fault as he slips to 15-30, but good percentage play from the Swiss and a successful Hawkeye overrule enables him to hold.

  35. 3-2 - Federer again manages to sneak his way to 0-30 with two crisp returns, but a good first serve and a clean volley level the game up for Haas. An ace down the T and a sliced backhand into the net from Federer give the German his third service hold.

  36. 2-2 - A delightful clipped backhand volley from Federer gets him off to a composed start, and a backhand into the net from Haas gives him an early cushion. A fine sliced serve from the world number two followed by a second outwide gives him a service hold to love.

  37. 2-1 - An exquisite backhand pass from Federer gives him 0-15, but Haas regains recovers from 0-30 with an ace outwide. Another good first serve to the body of his opponent gives Haas another solid hold to keep the first set going with serve early on.

  38. 1-1 - Federer plants a volley into the net with Haas hammering forehands straight at his opponent who races into the net. The Swiss goes wide with a regulation forehand to leave 30-30, but an ace down the T gets him back on track. Haas goes long with a backhand, and both players are established in the opening set.

  39. 1-0 - Haas fires a good first serve to Federer's body to move to 40-30, but the Swiss strikes a backhand smash down the line to take the game to deuce. The German is afforded no cheap points as he keeps his composure to hold in the opening game of the match - the atmosphere is building steadily on Centre Court.

  40. 0-0 - Tommy Haas wins the toss and elects to serve first on Centre Court, and it is still pretty overcast.

  41. - - The number two seed leads the pair's head-to-head record 9-2, including three victories on grass. The latest was at Wimbledon in the last 16 in 2007, with further wins at Halle in 2005 and 2006.

  9. Just like the women's game is turning into a Williams affair, likewise this is becoming Roger's. Does anyone still have any sort of doubt concerning this? Perhaps REED will have if Murray wins. If not for the lack of conc against Kohlschreiber,Rog should have lost no set in Wimby.

  18. stine147 - What an utter @#$% you must be.
If you think that in the French Federrer DELIBERATELY LET Haas go two sets up & a break in the 3rd then your half a braincell is obviously feeling overworked & has switched of for a rest. Federrer only just won that match by the skin of his teeth & anybody who knows anthing about tennis knows that he only went on to win the title because he didn't have to face Nadal.
And you now think thats game over - WRONG !!!!!!!! - Murray will annialate him in the final. Federrer has only one 1 of their last 6 matches & that was only because it was his 1st Slam final & he let the pressure get to him. This time as well as having the support (& Federrer is not used to not being the crowd favourite at Wimbledon) he's now got the experience of playing in a Slam final.
So get ready to eat your riddiculous words when andy takes the title in 4 sets.
YOU READ IT HERE 1st FOLKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
