2-1 - Verdasco is getting very agitated with a few bounces from the court at the O2 Arena, and Del Potro capitalises on his discomfort by holding to 15 to move in front once more in this third set.
1-1 - Verdasco whips an incredible forehand winner from a very tight angle to lead 40-30, but Del Potro responds with an obscenely good backhand to take the game into deuce! The Spaniard finds another forehand winner down the line before a huge serve down the T to close out the game.

Del Potro's seventh ace of the match pegs Verdasco back from 0-30 but, after forcing the game to deuce, the Argentine fires a forehand long to hand his opponent a break point. Verdasco makes a fine backhand return and Del Potro goes long with a forehand once more to break serve!
3-4 - Del Potro looks to be piling the pressure on Verdasco with two fierce forehand winners, but the Spaniard responds impressively with a pair of huge serves to force his way back to 30-30. A rasping backhand down the line gives him 40-30, but he has to close the game out from deuce.
3-3 - Despite challenging a very tight call at the end of the game, the Spaniard cannot put Del Potro under any real pressure and he holds serve convincingly once more to stay toe-to-toe with his opponent.
2-3 - Verdasco appears as comfortable winning points with his second serve as with his first, and he wins two cheap points with deliveries to Del Potro's body as he holds to 15 with a delightful backhand down the line.
2-2 - It is all too easy for Del Potro and his opponent is furious with himself for assisting him! The US Open champion races to 40-0 with some clinical first serves, and holds to 15 with a crisp volley to level at 2-2!

5-4 - Del Potro has the body language of a player who has received a diabolical bounce off the court as he frames a forehand into the stands at 30-0! Verdasco completest the game to love and forces his opponent to serve out for the first set.
5-3 - Verdasco is furious with himself for scuffing a forehand into the net under very little pressure from his opponent, who moves to within one game of the first set with a hold to 15 - the Argentine is displaying a very cool head.
4-3 - Verdasco pummels a forehand down the line to move to 40-15, and a sloppy backhand from Del Potro gives the Spaniard the game as he keeps his opponent on his toes.
