  1. 3-6 - GAME, SET AND MATCH ERRANI! A love game from Eranni. Her first Grand Slam final. Her first win over Stosur and she has raced through that final game with some superb hitting. Stosur pays dearly for a performance of real inconsistency. The biggest win of Errani's career. Errani less erratic than Stosur.

  2. 3-5 - BREAK ERRANI! Stosur forced to come up with a couple of winners from 15-40 down. One backhand winner is a real crunching blows, bu she then throws in another break point before missing a forehand across court. Suddenly Errani has the chance to serve for the match.

  3. 3-4 - Errani comes up with the hold that she needs. Plenty of wind around, but a much better game from the Italian as she holds to love. Would be a brave man who would predict where this match goes from here.

  4. 3-3 - Without playing particularly convincing, Stosur has worked her way back into the match. Errani had a golden chance to press on from leading 3-0, but has failed to make the most of her opportunity. Back on serve and all level in the contest.

  5. 2-3 - BREAK STOSUR! This match continue to ebb and flow. Stosur faltering, but Errani not exuding confidence herself as the Aussie brandishes her racket to send a couple of big booming forehands beyond her opponent. A 3-2 lead for Errani, but the match is back on serve.

  6. 1-3 - Stosur trails 15-30 but she somehow barges her way out of trouble. She was in a real fix there, but Errani failed to come up with the goods as Stosur arcs a forehand in before putting away an overhead to close to 3-1 behind.

  7. 0-3 - Errani halfway to the third set, and seemingly on her way to the final. Stosur bleeding errors. Looks like her backhand has deserted her at the key moment. Like Andy Murray said about himself yesterday, she is failing to "execute" out there. Is she choking? Not pleasant to watch.

  8. 0-2 - BREAK ERRANI! Stosur beginning to be bothered by unforced errors. The tension returns and her racket is springing leaks all over the place. Errani looking a lot more clearer in her mindset. She will need to plug the gaps otherwise this match might be heading for a quick finish. Looks a different player. A startling transformation.

  9. 0-1 - Errani comes up with a vital hold at the outset of the third set. Astonishingly enough, Stosur looks like she has fallen back into the ways of the first set. An amazing change of mood in that game. A comfortable hold for the Italian after she returned to the court from a comfort break.

  10. 6-1 - SET STOSUR! Ace number 11 for Stosur flies beyond Errani and we will strap ourselves in for a third set to decide the outcome of this joust. Stosur comes to life after her struggles in the opening set. A different match now. Stosur a warm favourite surely to get the job done in three.

  11. 5-1 - Errani forced to stave off a first set point with a winning forehand across court after an ongoing rally. Stosur prods a forehand wide from deep seconds later going for an early winner before the Aussie misses a drop shot as it comes back off the net. Errani on the board in the second set, but surely swimming against the tide. Or something like that.

  12. 5-0 - A 4-0 lead quickly becomes 5-0. Seems like a long time ago that Stosur was facing a break point in the opening game of the match. Unless the Aussie collapses, this match is heading for a third and deciding set. An hour and 13 minutes of play so far.

  13. 4-0 - BREAK STOSUR! And there is the double break. Stosur just pushing her shoulders back and letting her tennis do the talking. Worrying times these for Errani, who wins only one point on her serve in losing that game. She is two breaks down. Stosur two games from forcing the match to a third set.

  14. 3-0 - Stosur comes up with the big first serve to move 40-15 clear before a clubbing forehand misses the target. Both women hitting the ball with real purpose, but Stosur is finding the better angles. An ace from Stosur. A hold for Stosur. A 3-0 lead.

  15. 2-0 - BREAK STOSUR! Stosur finally breaks in the second game of the second set, but she was here in the first set. Errani looking a litle dejected after a couple of calls do not go in her favour. This match beginning to warm up with both women starting to time the ball a lot better.

  16. 1-0 - Stosur becoming increasingly aggressive. Had to survive a break point in the first game of the second set. Stosur with five aces in the match, but 16 errors compared to eight from Errani tells the story of the match. Errani playing above herself so far.

  17. 5-7 - SET ERRANI! Stosur furious with herself as she drops serve and that seems to carry on into the 12th game as Errani sees out the serve with a forehand winner down the line. Superb stuff from the Italian, who celebrates winning only her second set against Stosur in their six meetings. Stosur with work to do.

  18. 5-6 - BREAK ERRANI! Stosur dumps a backhand into the court from inside the baseline to trail 30-15 on her serve. Another backhand sails wide to present Errani with two break points in the penultimate game of the first set. A forehand drive saves the first break point before the Aussie puts away the short ball on the forehand side to bring the score to deuce, but Stosur is long seconds later before she misses a volley to hand Errani the game. She will serve for the first set.

  19. 5-5 - Errani struggling with the ball flight in the Paris wind, but she does enough to force the score to 5-5 as Stosur goes for break trailing 40-30 only to nudge a forehand wide of the target. Two games left and this set could be destined for a tie-break.

  20. 5-4 - A much brighter game from Stosur. Hitting the ball a lot better in keeping Errani firmly on the backfoot. Errani must hold here otherwise she will fall a set down.

  21. 4-4 - Stosur's biceps bulging in the wind, but she is misfiring at the moment as a couple of poorly timed shots presents Errani with the chance to hold which she takes. Stosur looks the likelier player, but she has yet to establish that feeling on he scoreboard.

  22. 4-3 - A comfortable game for Stosur on serve. Errani trying to mix matters up by coming in from deep, but that Stosur forehand is a real weapon. She uses it to good effect in moving ahead by the odd game in seven. We remain on serve.

  23. 3-3 - Errani forced to deuce again on her serve, but this time comes up with the goods to hold as a forehand winner and a missed Stosur return is more than enough to force this mach to 3-3 in the first set. Errani warming to a warmer day in Paris.

  24. 3-2 - Stosur stops the bleeding after a tough couple of games in failing to win a point. A couple of trademark bruising forehands race beyond Errani, who is producing some gritty stuff to remain in these points.

  25. 2-2 - Eight points on the trot for Errani as she holds to love. All change in the mood of this match as Errani starts to hit the mark with her first serve. We are level at 2-2.

  26. 2-1 - BREAK ERRANI! Stosur glances at the court after mishitting a forehand high into the sky. Errani with three break points. She breaks back to love. Errani wins her first game, but it is her first serve that she must concern herself with. Can't afford to keep missing it.

  27. 2-0 - BREAK STOSUR! Errani's second serve causing her all sorts of problems in the second game. Stosur just clubbing away forehands at will. A break point for Stosur, and Stosur converts a winner down the line for a 2-0 lead. This is all looking a bit ominous for Errani.

  28. 1-0 - Stosur has only dropped only one set in her five previous meetings with Errani. She throws down three aces in the opening game to hold serve. An impressive hold from the Aussie.

  29. 0-0 - Stosur serves in the opening game of the match.

  30. 14.10 - Players out on the court, and looks like we may well be seeing some play here. Forecast is not too good in Paris for the rest of the day.

  31. 14.00 - Samantha Stosur and Sara Errani is the first match on Philippe Chatrier Court at Roland Garros today in the French Open semi-finals. The covers are off in Paris. Could soon be some play.

  15. Stosur over hits on way too many shots - so many wasted points. I don't know who her coach is - but I've been saying this for years - and she continues to waste too many points in a match. Open court - and she goes for the corner - with power ??? Why ? Just guide it in - point won. Stosur beats herself, as much as she wins.
