Nicholas - cheers mate well said! Cannot say anything constructive on this post. Most of Fed fans cannot accept he is past his best. He was a fantistic player but I still maintain the slams he holds he had nowhere near the opposition that Novak and Rafa face today, hence Roger didn't accept the fact he needed to improve and thought what he had was enough and then we all know up comes someone called Rafa Nadal who I hope will take the title, but Novak played great today so good luck to both of them.
Fed is a good player but not great any more this was alway going to be on the cards really that he really needed a good start to his account here otherwise people would dog him even more than they do normally. VW i agree with you to be honest fed is a good player and deserves his praise but lets not kid our selves if he can reach the final without dropping a set and win in four then he is still in and above his best in my opinion. However lets not get ahead of ourselves here he beat a nobody to advance lets see how he does against slightly tougher competition. In other stages, djokovic also came through his match with relative ease and shows signs of his 2011 game and he has just come off reaching aussie and french open finals with a rest as well he looked amazing on court so guessing he for me is the most obvious favourite and oh yeah fed has to beat him in the semis which lets not kid our selves here in the last two slams they have met in a semi final fed lost to djokovic us open 2011 and most recently french open semi and that some would consider fed a much better clay court player than djokovic and he was annihalted there so guessing fed will have his moments in this grass court tournament but he will fall most definalty to djokoivc in the semi take that and smoke it sam he is a has been vamos djokovic and nadal
Sam - you are on another planet mate - never said Roger would lose in any first round of Wimbledon, what I did say was he has the easiest first round of the top 4 - cannot read anything into today - Ramos is weak, but to say I am sorry he won - wrong! I want to see the top guys go through until the semi's, but never made any secret of the fact I want to see a Rafa/Novak final. Can't you read? Next time get your facts right. Roger is a fantastic player but getting on a bit, and I personally don't think he will live through 2 weeks of 5 setters, nothing wrong with that comment.
Great Eddie:::: I see u r here! I am sure u r happy to see the real king roger win today!
Don't believe him Eddie. He might ambush you.
What a stunning performance that was! Yes, there was no fight whatsoever from Ramos but there was little Federer did wrong on his end as well.
Great performance by Fed. Keep playing like that!
Eddie::: ur very consistent with ur comments hats off to u! Remember as promised if u were to come visit new York during the us open! I will take u to see a rafa match take Care!
Easier win than Djoko! .
Federer is the new dark horse...he has an excellent chance of stunning the tennis world and winning this...fighting back to #1. :)
A good start for a 17th GS!
Wv;;;; u were right roger would lose in the first round! U just forget to mention roger would lose only 4 or 5 games in the first round! Hahaha I am sure u r happy to see the king roger win today!
The best chance Roger has of making the final is by winning his matches in 3 sets. Beating Nole in the Semis then possibly Rafa in the Final will be a task. If he could pull it off, it might be his biggest Major win ever.
Must be the easiest first round draw of the top 4 - well played Novak, hard to judge roger against this opposition.

This could be an easy start for Fed in his quest for his 17th GS! Vamos Roger!
Roger Federer has had a good season with some excellent displays and tournament wins. He will be disappointed that he didn't contest the final in the French, after putting himself in good positions in the first two sets against Djokovic in the semis, especially that inexplicable second set with a double break up. He also will feel some diasappointment at losing two important breakers to Nadal at the Australain Open semis. Federer needs to keep up the great form he has shown so far this season which led him to impressive consecutive tournament wins ealier in the season. It's a great achievement that he has reached the semi-finals of the two grand slams played so far this season, although by his standards he will have been expecting more from himself. He certainly has the game to win more majors he just needs to keep find again that extra steel in those crucial games against the likes of Nadal and Djokovic, so he doesn't lose his nerve and dictates and controls play and comes up with the winners. Also, he must make sure he plays consistently at that level he needs to, so he doesn't get caught out by players he should more comfortably win against. He canmnot afford to drop his guard against lower ranked players and in games he is controlling. Otherwise he could get caught out, as was the case at Wimbledon last year with his surprise loss to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-finals, and his struggle to wrestle back momentum in the Nicolas Mahut 3rd round game at the French Open recently. So Federers greatest challenge, and he is capable of rising to it, is to control his fear and not lose his nerve in the crucial moments of matches which will then allow him to dictate and control play and come up with the winners he is withiout doubt capable of producing. He needs to keep coming up with the right stategy too and to mix up play as needed. This must include coming to the net more, which he seemed to not do enough against Djokovic in the French Ope
