  1. 1-0 - WAWRINKA 1-0 - A timely hold for the Swiss player, who leads 1-0 at the outset of the second set. Yet to see a break in this match. Wawrinka pushing his opponent hard here. And that is no mean feat with Federer producing some lovely stuff himself.

  2. 7-6 - SET FEDERER 7-6 - The class begins to out in the tie-break as a lovely passage of play helps Federer move 6-3 clear to bring up three more break points. Wawrinka saves the first one on his serve, but cannot do anything on the seventh set point as he is backed up and can only dump the ball into the net from deep. A 1-0 lead for Federer. He takes the breaker 7-4.

  3. 6-6 - 6-6 - We head for the breaker. Wawrinka dragging himself back from 0-40 behind with some imperious hitting, but Federer maintains the pressure as he bullets a forehand into the corner of the court that Wawrinka can only empty back into the net. Wawrinka fights the good fight to stave off another set point befoe coming through to force the breaker. A stunning response really by Wawrinka. Battling hard to push Federer all the way.

  4. 6-5 - FEDERER 6-5 - Federer throws his third ace down the middle for a 6-5 lead in this first set. Has been really entertaining stuff with Wawrinka really holding up well. Won a couple of points there on the Federer serve, but the world number one comes up with the goods in the key moments. On we go. Wawrinka looking to take this first set to a break.

  5. 5-5 - A brilliant backhand winner from the back of the court by Federer is good enough to hand the Swiss player set point after Wawrinka failed to convert a volley at the net. Wawrinka successfully challenges a call to deny Federer as the ball flies long before closing out the game to level at 5-5. Superb hold for Wawrinka. All to play for again.

  6. 5-4 - Federer not hanging about in establishing a 5-4 lead in this opening set. Drops only one point in that game as he ambles back to his chair knowing Wawrinka must hold serve to stay in this first set. Pressure swinging one way then the other.

  7. 4-4 - Wawrinka facing a huge point at 30-30, but he rushes the shot and ends up drilling the forehand into the middle of the net. Break point to Federer, but he floats the backhand return wide before Federer hits the net from a powerful Wawrinka ace. Another solid serve enables Wawrinka to escape to level at 4-4. Both men saving break points in their previous service game now.

  8. 4-3 - FEDERER 4-3 - Wawrinka last beat Federer three years ago on clay - his only victory over his compatriot - but he is coming up with some superb tennis here. Federer forced to save only his second break point of the tournament with an ace in holding for a 4-3 lead. This set all very tight. Wawrinka will serve to level at 4-4.

  9. 3-3 - 3-3 - Anthing you can do, I can do better. Wawrinka certainly relishing this match so far. Not willing to wilt in any shape or form as he comes up with a few superb shots to hold to love. Finished off that game in some style as he converts an overhead winner at the net. We are all square again in this match.

  10. 3-2 - FEDERER 3-2 - Another love game for Federer. Wawrinka toiling really to lay a glove on Federer at the moment on his serve. On we go then with Wawrinka continuing to play catch-up in this opening set.

  11. 2-2 - 2-2 - Wawrinka trying to be as aggressive as he can be. Moving forward with some real menace here and reaping the rewards as he holds for a second time in the set. Wawrinka trying to get that bludgeoning forehand on the go as much as possible. Couple of blistering efforts by the Swiss number two in that game.

  12. 2-1 - FEDERER 2-1 - Federer with no such problems in that game as he again picks up a comfortable service game to move ahead by the odd game in three. Federer looking to lock horns with Novak Djokovic in the final after his win over Juan Martin Del Potro in the opening semi-final.

  13. 1-1 - Wawrinka forced to deuce in his first service game, but escapes holding serve as Federer whips a forehand wide. Federer probing and prompting in his usual manner, but a couple of clubbing groundstrokes by Wawrinka help him stand up to the pressure. A very timely hold. 1-1 in the opening set.

  14. 1-0 - FEDERER 1-0 - In the blink of an eye, Federer holds to love to move one game clear in this match. So much pressure on the Wawrinka serve with Federer off to a flier in this match. Already looks in the groove.

  15. 0-0 - Federer to serve in the opening game of the match.

  16. 20.00 - Federer with a 10-1 career winning record over Wawrinka, who is the Swiss number two. Both men knocking up here at the start of this match. Difficult to see anything other than a Federer win.

  8. Ali yahya!! You are still here defending your druggist hero Nadal.. Come on man work on others nerves.. Don't waste time.. Your hero who became a old man at the age of 26 sitting in a wheel chair and you are ditching him..comeon do your best.. work on Nadal's knees and legs.. Or help him with new set of drugs you use...Nadal muscles are with the help of drugs.... Even Arnold admitted that.. when is your guy going to Admit?

  9. venu it seems to me that you want me to keep on embarrassing you, and i find it funny talking about rogers records, i mean i could also ask some questions: how many roland garros titles federer has won ? 1, how many gold medals has federer won? 0, who humiliates federer in the head to head record? you-know-who (18-10), i mean we could ask questions all day, every one of them has his own records, neither nadal nor federer have to break each others' records

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:32
  10. Ali yahya!! I thought u work on others nerves.. From when u've started responding to me and so many others backing up druggist Nadal.. Common man.. that is not fair.. Go and do your routine.. take drugs and have fun...

From venu, on Sat 18 Aug 21:23
  11. oh one more thing it's not about the number of titles, nadal proved that he could beat federer at his best on his favorite grass court, thank you very much, what's the point if i beat up seven guys and then when i was at my best one guy came to me and hit me right in the face and knocked me out cold? got the point?

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:23
  12. How many year end Master cup's Nadal won? What about his indoors record?? How long he stayed behind Fed as a second Ranked player..How long Fed was behind him in terms of ranks?? why don't you go a do some physio to hero.. maybe that will help .. common dude.. Nadal is having tough time and your wasting your time posting all this.. show some mercy , some respect and help him out..

From venu, on Sat 18 Aug 21:21
  13. venu it seems to me that you've got nothing to say anymore so you're starting to talk about tennis history....i'm sorry man i'm not gonna embarrass you anymore...

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:20
  14. venu oh and it just hit me, the only major in which federer won over nadal is wimbledon, while nadal has beat him on all kinds of courts in majors (except U.S open because they never met), and talking about drugs is because you have nothing to prove, oh sure now i go and take drugs and i could beat federer because of that right?

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:19
  15. Ali yahya! By the way, the real name of tennis is "Lawn Tennis" Have you heard??? "Lawn tennis" That is played only in Wimby, how many grass court tittle does Nadal have?? Even after slowing the grass and changing the ball weght to help baseliners?? Is it 1% compared with Fed?? Not to forget, all that he achieved with the help of drugs..

From venu, on Sat 18 Aug 21:17
  16. ummmmmm venu do you watch tennis? do three consecutive losses in major finals mean anything to you ( roland garros 2008. wimbledon 2008, australian open 2009) and australian open 2012 semi final, nadal can play on all courts whether you like it or not

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:15
  17. Ali yahya! By the way, even with drugs, what round nadal reached in this year wimbledon. oops 2nd round.. Why?? this year wimby courts played little fast... Ooops!! What is the rank of that guy?? Have I heard his name before??

From venu, on Sat 18 Aug 21:14
  18. Ali yahya! You are right about FO score. But all that was against druggist. It is always a tough task to compete with druggists in any sport. So no problem. By they way Nadal got a bagel from Fed on all courts(maybe you don't know - tennis is not just played on Clay - there are others like grass, hardcourt, indoors, carpet etc) including your Nadal's favourite -- Clay..

From venu, on Sat 18 Aug 21:11
  19. Mboy sorry...a major final before which there were high expectations of roger winning the match

From Ali Yahya, on Sat 18 Aug 21:09
  20. anyone who watched federer's performance in the wimbledon 2008 final would know that this is 50% of what he can give, and btw i have that match in a three videos...and therefore nadal's presence right now would have been a big difference
