6-0 - GAME, SET AND MATCH MURRAY! With the confidence oozing out of his pores, Murray puts the match to bed in double quick time. Highly impressive stuff from Murray as he recovered his gait to claim the match with another comfortable hold. Time to sign a few autographs. He is through to the last four in under three hours. Couldn't have envisaged that 90 minutes or so ago.
5-0 - BREAK MURRAY! Murray ready to enjoy a bagel in New York as he dismantles another Cilic service game to move 5-0 clear. A brilliant cross court winner on the backhand side speeds beyond his opponent. Murray will serve for the match.
4-0 - MURRAY 4-0 - Murray forced to confront two break points in that game. Cilic can't convert as a forehand swims wide of the mark. Murray saves the second with Cilic knocking a forehand into the net. Cilic misfiring badly as Murray wins his ninth straight game. Can't believe this used to be a tennis match.
3-0 - BREAK MURRAY 3-0 - Murray with a 3-0 lead and two breaks of serve. Cilic is a spent force. And has been on a downward curve since losing that second set tie-break. Cilic now up to 46 unforced errors compared to 28 from Murray. A love game. A possible semi-final with Roger Federer looms large.
2-0 - MURRAY 2-0 - Let the good times roll. Cilic is on the brink of collapse here. The unforced errors mount. Murray just piling on the pressure and going through these games like there is no tomorrow.
1-0 - BREAK MURRAY 1-0 Muzza is loving it, loving it, loving it out there. A quick change of the shirt by Murray, who has this match at his mercy. Runs to the net to thump a ball at Cilic that he can only dab out of play and that will be two break points for the Scotsman. Murray is punching the air seconds later as he puts another break to bed for a 1-0 lead. On his way to the semis.
6-2 - SET MURRAY 6-2 A break point for Cilic, but he can't convert as he sprays a ball long from deep. A forehand is nudged wide by the Croatian on the forehand side and Murray brings up his first set point. He takes the initiative by throwing down an ace to move 2-1 clear. The New York crowd enjoying this monumental comeback by Muzza. One set away from the match now.
5-2 - BREAK MURRAY 5-2! The double break for Murray. This is all going according to plan for the Great British hope and then some. Is suddenly playing like the world number four and the third seed here. He will serve for the set and a 2-1 lead in the match. Murray quick to bring up three break points. Take his chance on the second break point as Cilic knocks a forehand wide of the mark.
4-2 - MURRAY 4-2 - Another tough old slog for Muzza in that game, but he seems to have saved his best serves for the key moments in these games. Forced to deuce there before getting himself over the line in style. Murray has actually won three less points than Cilic in this match, believe it or not.
3-2 - BREAK MURRAY 3-2 - And there is the break as Murray sends a backhand from deep crashing past Cilic. The ball was beyond the Croatian player before he even realised it was upon him. Superb stuff from Murray. Truly stunning recovery this is. Murray on course for the semi-finals holding a 3-2 lead and the break in the third set.
2-2 - 2-2 - Composure at the right time is just what the doctor ordered for Murray. Was staring at a tricky situation when he was level at 30-30, but composed himself to get the business done and see out the game to draw level. All to play for now. Murray searching for the break that could make all the difference to the destination of this contest.
1-2 - CILIC 2-1 - Seems to be a calm after the storm of the second set. A love game from Cilic is good enough for a 2-1 lead and a hold just when he needed it most. Murray has made 10 less unforced errors than Cilic with 26 compared to 36. Games on serve.
1-1 - 1-1 - A love game from Murray to restore parity in this set. Floodlights come on and this is now a day-night match. As night falls on Manhattan, Murray sticks it to Cilic with a throbbing second serve before a backhand winner sees him scramble over the line.
0-1 - CILIC 1-0 - Cilic changes his shirt and will hope for a change in fortune in this match. A decent start for Cilic in the third set as he holds serve dropping only one point into the bargain. Much, much better from the Croatian player just when he needed it. Vital that Cilic does not lose his focus after the dispiriting nature of the previous set.
7-6 - SET MURRAY 7-4 - Murray falls 4-2 behind as he clubs a two-handed backhand wide of the mark. Not good signs again for the Scotsman. Cilic serves leading 4-2, but a superb backhand down the line is followed up with a winning forehand from the middle of the court. A 4-3 lead becomes 4-4 when Cilic dumps the ball into the net from deep. An overhead from Murray is good enough for a 5-4 lead before Cilic knocks the ball long under no pressure. Murray claims the set on the next point 7-4. Astonishing.
6-6 - 6-6 - Cilic carries the match to a tie-break. Murray was down 5-1, but has everything to play for here. Spurned a chance to get the job done there and then when he was too cautious leading 30-15, but Cilic looks a concerned customer. And that is good news for Muzza fans heading for the breaker. Cilic is thinking hard for the first time in this match.
6-5 - MURRAY 6-5 - A fifth straight game from Murray, and he is ahead for the first time in the set. Immense pressure on the shoulders of Cilic now as he is forced to serve to remain in a set that he looked nailed on to win. Another break now will see Murray level the match at 1-1. More punters arrive to watch this match. That should help Murray's situation.
5-5 - BREAK MURRAY! Cilic comes up with three first serves on the trot from 0-40 behind to prevent the break. A magnificent overhead by Cilic saves the third break, but Murray isn't spent as he comes to the net to convert a volley on the backhand side that is simply superb. Another break point for Murray, but he doesn't need to find a return as Cilic drops in a double fault. Amazing change here. All level now from 5-1. Murray on the move.
4-5 - CILIC 5-4 - Murray with a spring in his step all of a sudden. A couple of booming serves from Murray are more than good enough to see out the game in quick time. Murray rising to the occasion when all looked lost.
3-5 - BREAK MURRAY! Much, much better from Murray in that game to retrieve one of the breaks. The Scotsman forced Cilic into some awkward situations and he couldn't respond. Murray is one of the best returners in the game, but has so far failed to show it this evening. Needs another break to remain vibrant in this set.
2-5 - CILIC 5-2 - Murray seals the service game with an ace to remain alive in a match that is looking a hopeless cause at the moment. Murray's body language is not the best. He has recovered six times in his career from trailing by two sets. Looks like he will need to do it a seventh time.
1-4 - BREAK CILIC! And on goes the nightmare for Murray, who can't seem to return a ball with any sort of interest. The double break for Cilic. Double trouble for Murray. Murray saves one break point, but can't come up with the goods on the second break point. Cilic serving for a 5-1 lead in the second set.
1-3 - A 3-1 lead now for Cilic in this second set. Murray is having a bit of a nightmare out there with Cilic actually bullying his man from the back of the court. This wasn't supposed to happen to Muzza in this environment.
1-2 - Meanwhile, on goes Muzza over on Louis Armstrong Stadium. A tough battle at 30-30, but Murray scrambles over the line as he outlasts Cilic before converting an ace to stay in touch. Cilic remains a break up.
0-2 - CILIC 2-0 - A game lasting 10 minutes, but Murray can't convert the pressure into the break. Cilic continues his path. Chances for Murray there, but his opponent escapes to lead 2-0 in the second set.
0-1 - BREAK CILIC 1-0! This match going according to plan for Cilic, who breaks in the opening game of the second set. Murray all at sea here. Murray unhappy with the speed of the court. But that is not his main issue. Cilic is causing all the problems. Another sublime forehand from Cilic breaks Murray's serve.
3-6 - SET CILIC 6-3! Murray misses by inches going for a return at 30-30 before Cilic tucks away a winner from mid-court to see out the set. Not the start Murray was looking for. What has he got in the tank out there to recover.
3-5 - BREAK CILIC - Superb returning from Cilic at the right time. A savage forehand and a missed forehand by Murray proving key for Cilic to break the third seed for a second time in the set. Murray looking far from happy.
3-4 - CILIC 4-3 - Back on serve! Murray races out to three break points as Cilic's serve breaks down. He saves the first of them with an ace and comes back to 30-40 - but Murray gets the crucial break back.
2-4 - CILIC 4-2 - Murray closes the gap again with a hold.
1-4 - CILIC 4-1 - Cilic doesn't concern himself too much with the goings on at the other side of the net in keeping focused to move 4-1 clear in the opening set. Cilic winning 83 per cent of points on first serve. A hold to love for Cilic as he tucks away a couple of juicy forehands that leave Murray gasping for fresh air.
1-3 - CILIC 3-1 - Very poor start by Murray to this match on a court that is perhaps not his favourite. Looking a bit lost out there, but his coach Ivan Lendl doesn't look overly concerned. Murray responds by drilling a backhand winner down the line before a big first serve ensures the Scot is on the board.
0-3 - CILIC 3-0 - Cilic cements the break for a 3-0 lead in this first set. A dream start for Cilic. Murray must start to get those feet moving.
