With three match points in hand, Wozniacki surely has won this match. And one point later it's all over, Vekiv overcooking her return.

  4. - - WOZNIACKI 6-1 4-3 - Well, well, well! Vekic serves out to love as she seems to benefit from a second wind! And this next game is very important for Wozniacki now, who needs to stem this little run from the Croat.

  5. - - WOZNIACKI 6-1 4-2 - BREAK! Vekic stays alive as she breaks back and give Wozniacki something to think about! 'Wilting in the heat'? Maybe not yet, but the Dane needs to refocus now and get this one over with in two sets.

Credit to the youngster though, she claws back one point with a well-executed smash. But that's all she can muster as Caro goes a double-break ahead a point later as she delivers what could well be the nail in Vekic's coffin.

She manages to pull back to level at 30-30, but then goes long to set up break point for the Dane, who muscles her way to the first break of the set.

A brilliant power drive to the back corner is all Vekic needs though to save it and she uses the momentum to take the deuce advantage. In retaliation, Wozniacki pulls out her big serve which she uses to control points and despite the youngster taking the advantage a couple of times, aces for the set.
