MURRAY 6-3 6-4 7-5 - GAME, SET & MATCH! No problems this time from Murray as he earns himself two match points with a big first serve. But he makes no mistake on the first, Berankis coming into the net only to put his approach shot into it. Murray was far from his best today but he is through to the fourth round where he will face the winner between Gilles Simon and Gael Monfils
- -
MURRAY 6-3 6-4 6-5 - BREAK! Murray breaks back immediately. Its a much better game from the Scot as he earns himself a couple of break points with a forehand winner before sealing the break when Berankis sends a off-balance forehand sailng long of the baseline
- -
MURRAY 6-3 6-4 5-5 - BREAK! Murray sends a regulation forehand long to hand Berankis two break back points. The Scot is definitely a little stroppy today as he immediately complains about the spider cam moving just above him before he served. And Murray misses an inside-out forehand approach shot on the first of those break points to hand Berankis the break back
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 5-4 - Berankis holds to 30 when a Murray forehand drifts long of the baseline. The Scot still has that break buffer though and will serve for the match after the change of ends
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 5-3 - Murray matches Berankis with a hold to 15 to leave himself potentially just one game away from the fourth round. The Lithuanian will have to serve to stay in the match next
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 4-3 - Berankis races through another service hold for the loss of just the one point as he keeps the pressure on at just the one break down
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 4-2 - Murray moves up the court to a shorter ball and rattles off an inside-out forehand winner across court to get himself out of a potential spot of bother at 15-30 down. But a foray into the net and a shoulder-height forehand volley winner earns the Lithuanian another break point. He belts a routine forehand long of the baseline, however, and Murray goes on to hold with another big first serve
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 3-2 - Ace number six from Berankis keeps him in touch in this third set but he still trails by the break and Murray has only once conceded his serve so far
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 3-1 - Murray is looking much more comfortable now as he posts another solid service hold to cement the break. He has not played well behind his second serve today but lucky for Murray, his first serve was firing in that game and Berankis barely got a look in
- -
MURRAY 6-3 6-4 2-1 - BREAK! Murray produces a forehand winner (Berankis again challenges unsuccessfully) to earn himself an early break point in this third set. And sure enough he does take the lead, finding a dipping forehand that makes the volley very tricky for Berankis, who can only hit into the net
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 1-1 - Murray works his way into the net but produces a winner off his forehand approach shot to bring up two game points. Only one is needed though this time, Berankis completely mis-hitting his forehand return to help Murray hold
- - MURRAY 6-3 6-4 0-1 - Berankis races through a love service hold to open the third set
- -
MURRAY 6-3 6-4 - SET! Again, Murray's serve comes to his aid when he really needs it as he gets out of a 0-30 hole with a couple of unreturnable serves. And then an ace down the centre of the court brings up set point, a set point Murray makes work for him by pushing Berankis deep. The Lithunian gets perhaps a little unlucky when he cross court forehand catches the top of the tape and bounces wide, although in all likelihood the shot would have dropped wide anyway
- -
MURRAY 6-3 5-4 - BREAK! Berankis has been so solid under the overhead so far today as he fires down another smash. But that is not enough to prevent Murray from earning himself two break points. The first goes begging but Murray does break at the second attempt and he will serve for the second set after the change of ends
- - MURRAY 6-3 4-4 - Murray is still struggling to string shots together but his serving gets him through another game as he fires down an unreturnable to hold and level up properly
- -
MURRAY 6-3 3-4 - BREAK! Murray finds the baseline with a forehand winner (Berankis challenges unsuccessfully) to bring up two break back points of his own ... the Lithuanian saves the first with a big serve but he can do nothing about the second, an exquisite lob from Murray landing just inside the bsaeline. It's back on serve in this second set
- -
MURRAY 6-3 2-4 - BREAK! Berankis works his way into the net and bangs out a forehand winner into the open court to level at 30-30 before another error from Murray hands the Lithuanian yet another brea point. Murray saves it with an ace but quickly gives Berankis a second chance and this time he does break with a forehand that Murray can only return into the net. Well deserved break from Berankis
- - MURRAY 6-3 2-3 - Gorgeous play from Berankis as he holds once again with a forehand winner. Murray remains frustrated with himself as he swipes his racquet at the floor on the walk back to the chair.
- - MURRAY 6-3 2-2 - Murray is not happy with his general play as he is clearly heard yelling "come on, do something" to himself after another unforced error. But his is serving very well as another first serve clips the line to give him a comfortable hold
- - MURRAY 6-3 2-1 - Pretty straightfoward from Berankis as he sneaks out in front once again with a low-fuss service hold
- - MURRAY 6-3 1-1 - Murray is finding the net alarmingly often off the backhand wing as Berankis finds another couple of forehand winners on his way to another break point. But the Scot steadies the ship before going on to hold when Berankis sends a forehand just long of the baseline
- - MURRAY 6-3 0-1 - Berankis fires down a 124mph ace to seal a hold to 15 to open the second set in his favour
- -
MURRAY 6-3 - SET! A huge forehand approach shot followed by an easy high volley winner brings up another break point for Berankis. Murray saves it with an ace but promptly gives the Lithuanian a second chance with a forehand long. But he again saves it with a big first serve but his biggest serve of the day brings up a set point. And he takes full advantage, a decent second serve being returned long by Berankis. Not overwhelming from Murray then but good enough
- - MURRAY 5-3 - Berankis does well to hold serve with the minimum of fuss, and for the loss of just the one point as Murray throws in a couple of poor backhand slices. Murray still has the one break cushion though and will serve for the set next
- -
MURRAY 5-2 - BREAK! Berankis shows just what he is capable of with a forehand winner drilled down the line and then also an off-forehand winner across court to bring up another two break back points. Murray saves the first with some clinical play but he cannot repeat the trick on the second and sends a forehand long to gift Berankis one of the breaks back
- -
MURRAY 5-1 - BREAK! Berankis misses a cross court forehand, pulling the ball wide into the tramlines; he challenges it but the ball was well out and hawkeye confirms this, and that brings up another break point for Murray. The Scot takes full advantage, again patiently pushing Berankis around the baseline until the Lithuanian makes the error.
- - MURRAY 4-1 - Berankis stands up and rattles a backhand down the line on his way to two break points. He fails to find the court on either but is gifted a third when Murray sends a defensive cross court backhand wide. Again the chance goes begging when Murray produces a forehand that is just too good for the Lithuanian to get back in play. Murray also saves a fourth with an ace and this time he goes on to hold
- - MURRAY 3-1 - Much better from Berankis as he runs around the ball and batters an inside out forehand across court before also putting a forehand smash into the same corner. Murray's speed and defensive is such that he gets to both but he can only put his second backhand into the net and Berankis has his first hold
- - MURRAY 3-0 - Murray is very quick up to a drop shot from Berankis and puts away the forehand for a winner before also coming up with an ace on his way to a second comfortable service hold to consolidate the early break. Murray look supremely confident so far today
- -
MURRAY 2-0 - BREAK! Murray earns himself early break points against the Berankis serve and is quick to take full advantage, breaking at the first attempt when the Lithuanian hits long. Nothing special so far from Murray, just getting the ball back deep into play and Berankis is unable to cope
- - MURRAY 1-0 - An impressive first game from Murray as he holds without any fuss at all, Berankis sending a forehand return well long to end the game
- - So, Murray and qualifier Berankis are about to get their clash underway on Rod Laver with the Scot having won the toss and opting to serve first ...
- - Third seed Andy Murray and his opponent for today, Ricardas Berankis, have just made their way out onto Rod Laver and will be getting underway in around about 10 minutes time after the warm-up

I've decided not to write about some....hmmm....comments. However this time I eventually ask the question which still bothers me: Why, whilst the British players are taking part in Grand Slam BBC doesn't show the matches? Maybe if Murray reaches semi-final (or if Robson or Murray take part in X factor or Strictly come..smth?)
Good, nice little exercise and a better workout for AM; should help him focus more in the next match:)
Btw... Martynai, why are you so defensive??? I am proud of Ricardas as well, but everyone has the right to speak their own opinion...don't take it so serious! :)
Very happy to See Ricardas playing against Andy... Happy for Ricardas that he has come so far! Good job Ricardai!
No offense btw but it's a demographical fact right?
Martynas I'm sure it's the UK version of Yahoo, what do you expect? I'm sure there's a Lithuanian version of Yahoo oh yeah that's yahoo UK as practically everyone from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland ect live in the UK.
Chas Lindstrohm Scandinavian? tell me if they're any Male Scandinavian players in the main draw?
& Chas Lindstrohm is a total #$%$.
As I understood, it is not a Andy Murray fan-site, it has some strange name... yahoo.... I suppose... So who is pathetic, who is not listening for other opinion? Oh, I'm sorry that I'm so miserable Lithuanian, but I'm proud of Ricardas Berankis and my country. And I have rights for beeing fan of Berankis, not Andy and I'm writing here what I want. It is a fundamental thing of freedom and democracy. Go, Ricardai, Go!!!
We are rooting for you Andy, you make it look easy now but your fans know how hard you have trained to get where you are. Thankyou being for such a brilliant player AND such a gentleman you make me proud to be Scottish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhh i see we have a pathetic, and fair play few haters posting #$%$ about the reigning olympic and grand slam champion, breezed through 2 rounds this will be no exception, blatantly obvious only a shock may happen from ferrer or del potro, but ferrer will be wiped by djoko, murray will meet djoko unless del potro serbes out of this universe, its the djoko and murray show now, unless nadal makes a super comeback, but even then he will be unbeatables on clay, wimbledons next murray after oz open if you get past djoko
Well said HAPPY.... With you all the way.... come on OUR andy
All these people that writes nasty comments of Andy Murray are not worth reading they are so childess and immature they don`t know a good player when they see one and no drugs taken like some.
Ricka ! Ricka ! Ricka ! You going down Andycollegeboy :)
