@EDDIE relax yours are in upper case we can tell who is who.
Whether we like it or not only grand slams count on who is or who are the greats in tennis. With 17 GS Fed is on top and may be together with Nadal as Nadal has beaten him several times in Grand Slams.Hey other Eddie, please change your ID as we have the same ID to avoid confusion. I can't change mine as I have been commenting since day one and you are a newcomer. Your comments are good and fair but they are not mine.
I thing the best tennist ever was Miroslav Mecir but many other guys learned how to struggle against him ......
Federer is the best one in tennis ever..But the other guys now learned how to struggle against him. And I think we need to see new faces and new stayles . I'm on my own opinion a bit bored of him.
some comment on here, lol , Tomas is Federer nemesis, funny
it is not that federer has lost confidence or is getting older. the nagging truth is that players in the top ten have figured out his style of play. they always play the ball to his back-hand which once upon a time they had not figure out that it was his weakness. always force federer to play back-hand and he is not that granite. if you watch federer matches against players like julien beneautteau, djokovic, murray etc , you will see that they always play the ball to his back-hand. his back has not been that strong and it took all the players save nadal a very long time to figure out that it was nemesis. if you play the ball to his back hand it is comfortable for him and he feels uneasy returning the ball with a punchy and great accuracy. this has not got anything to do with old age. if you look at nadal who is a left-hander and very strong with that, if you play the ball to his right hand, he tries to be athletic and positions himself well to his left so he ceases the opportunity to hit the ball back with his natural left hand. that makes nadal unique. the great federer has still got so much steam in him. unless he learns how to transition himself to enable him hit the ball back with his natural forehand (right hand), i don't think it will be easy for him to win any grand slam again unless he get lucky if players like nadal, murray, djokovic etc get eliminated before he meets them. WHO WILL DISAGREE WITH THIS WISDOM?
I feel Roger is not mentally as strong as before, when he gets into tight situations he can not pull through anymore.
It is so frustrating to watch Roger playing matches against players like Berdych, tsonga, Delpotro, because he does not have the confidence any more to win against them.
Tomas is another Federer nemesis.
Djokovic will destroy birdshit tomoz! Just to show fed up even more lol
All tournaments count. It shows how good you are day in and day out. Roger has won over 75 tournaments. If he had only won the majors and no other tournaments, he would not be as respected as he is. They are matter and many of them payout close to $1M or more at times. He has won over $70M in his carreer. If he had only won slams he'd have half of that in winnings.
Tomas is working to be no.1
Now that Roger has gotten older it seems that his stamina is not the same as it was when he was 25 years old. I get that's part of getting old.
Federer really is a big flop! Huge flop! What a choker.
This is not a slam but no excuses, absolutely no excuses will be tolerated.
Only grand slams count. Losing to Berdie is no big deal for Fed. This is just a practice for him to be ready for the BIG ones like Wimby, NOT the French, USO may be.
Comment number 3.Poor Sam. Poor Sam.
Roger was the best but now struggles when he comes up against a seeded player!
Got to remember he has won Dubai 5 times already! To him this match is just practice great practice! Fed trying lots of new things I like it! It will all come together at the French open! That's what it's all about! It's the French open and fed is getting ready for that! So haters say what I want at the French fed will destroy berdych! I guarsntee that much!
Roger rarely loses tiebreakers. This one may have cost him.
